Gavinet Sends Lahlou to the Rail

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Karim Lahlou had just 9,950 in front of him when he moved all in from the under-the-gun position. He was called by Jerome Gavinet on the button when it folded to him and both of the blinds got out of the way.

Karim Lahlou: {A-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Jerome Gavinet: {A-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

Lahlou had the better hand but the {6-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} flop wasn't exactly a very safe one for him. The {8-Spades} turn was, but the {3-Diamonds} river ended the tournament for Lahlou.

He does have the option to reenter for another hour and 50 minute, plus a one-hour dinner break.

Kaddour and Ferrante Chop it Up

Level 7 : 250/500, 50 ante

Jean Paul Ferrante and Mounim Kaddour got it all in the middle while Kaddour was at risk. Kaddour had only 4,700 in front of him and was hoping to double up with {A-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} against the {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs} of Ferrante.

The board ran out {J-Clubs}{A-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and both players chopped the blinds and ante.

Boatman Back in Action

Level 6 : 200/400, 25 ante
Barny Boatman
Barny Boatman

Barny Boatman is back in action with his fourth bullet in the tournament. He is making use of this one as he just eliminated a player in the last hand before the break.

Boatman eliminated his opponent while holding the stone cold nuts. He had the nut flush on a non-paired board and he was called off by a set of jacks. The player who got eliminated threw his cards over the table and his chips spilled over the floor.

Once Boatman had collected the chips he as well went on a break.

Break

Level 6 : 200/400, 25 ante

There is another 15-minute break. They will play three more levels after the break and then have a one-hour dinner break. The registration/reentry period is still open until the start of level ten, the first level after the dinner break.

Richez Doubles Through Rohr

Level 6 : 200/400, 25 ante

Jean-Philippe Rohr raised to 1,000 from the cutoff and he saw Clement Richez three-bet from the button to 2,800. Richez had only about 13,000 behind and Rohr put him all in with a four-bet. Richez called quickly and it turned out they had a race on their hands.

Jean-Philippe Rohr: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}
Clement Richez: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {J-Spades}{3-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Richez's pocket queens ended up as the best hand.

Maltez With the Better Kicker

Level 6 : 200/400, 25 ante

Harid Alaoui raised to 900 from early position, only to see Fabrice Maltez three-bet to 2,900 from late position. The others got out of the way and Alaoui called the three-bet.

The flop fell {K-Clubs}{J-Spades}{J-Hearts} and both players checked. The turn was the {10-Clubs} and Alaoui check-called a bet of 3,000. The {7-Hearts} river card completed the board and both players checked.

Maltez immediately showed {A-Spades}{K-Hearts} and that was good enough when Alaoui showed {K-Spades}{Q-Hearts}.
