They played just over 7 hours on Day 2 of WSOPC #10: $400 CHRISTMAS PLOSSUS, $1.225M Gtd. to whittle the field down from 446 players returning at the start of the day to the final nine. Leading the way into Day 3 is Cosmin-Ionut "cosmiNik89" Nica from Austria with almost twice as many chips as the next biggest stack.

Joining Nica on the final day of play is two-time bracelet winner Anson "[email protected]" Tsang, Tomas Ribeiro from Portugal, and Chris Moorman from the United Kingdom. Moorman nursed a short stack for much of the Day 2 end-game, laddering over several other people during three-table and two-table play to survive through to the final table.

Day 2 Action

Day 2 got underway today at 1:30 p.m. eastern time with 446 players who managed to bag a Day 1 stack. Only 400 of them were going home with money, and they got there before the end of Level 2.

It didn't slow down any as the numbers dropped very quickly through the first few hours of play. Before the third hour was up, there were under 100 players remaining, and an hour later, they were down to about 50. Among those to fall in the top 100 was start of day leader Niki "everyhand" Nurmisto, who bagged just over $2K for 98th place.

As they approached the final table, Idris Ambraisse looked to be making a run at Day 3, playing the biggest stack during four-table play. Ultimately, he would fall on the soft bubble for the day, but pocketed $7,969 for 11th place. It was Israeli player "tavihakesef" who bubbled the final table in 10th for $9,103.

The final nine players are all guaranteed at least $17,892, and action resumes on January 2nd, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. eastern time. PokerNews will be there to find out who takes the PLOSSUS ring home.

"tavihakesef" flopped best on the {3-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop, but running sixes gave Milhomem sixes full of kings and the final table was set.
