Beetz Out the Window

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Bradley Beetz was in late position and shoved over an open and a three-bet by Blake Jakel. It was about 30,000, and Jakel made the call, though he wasn't excited about it. He was happy to be flipping with {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} against {10-}{10-}, and he paired up on the window card to send Beetz out.

In Event #3: $400 No-Limit Hold’em Double Stack, 181 entrants created a $59,730 prize pool that was paid out to the top 28 players including Martin Kinder (4th - $4,572), Frank Covich (7th - $1,943), Steven Wills (14th - $877), Al Fallahi (22nd - $640), “Michael Schaper (25th - $610), and Austin McCormick (28th - $600).

Coming out on top was Lucas Tae, who claimed his first gold ring and a $14,675 first-place prize.

Tae, 36, was one of the shortest stacks at the final table but was able to recover quick.

“The final table went in my favor,” Tae explained. The entire final table only lasted two hours and when Tae made it to heads up he had a dominating chip lead. It only took four hands before Tae eliminated his final opponent, runner-up Everett Lawrence.

“I normally play at Hollywood on weekends,” Tae said. “I will play all of the events until the end.”

Rystrom Hits the River

Level 11 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

A player under the gun shoved for 13,500 and Tim Rystrom called in the next seat. Everyone else folded.

Rystrom: {8-}{8-}
Under the gun: {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

The {q-}{4-}{a-}{5-} board left Rystrom needing an eight but that's exactly what he got when the {8-Clubs} river hit. Another player claimed to have folded {a-}{8-}.

Unlucky Flop for Raghavan

Level 10 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Nam Phan raised early and called a three-bet from Ravi Raghavan on his left. They took in an {8-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop and Phan led out with 5,200 into about 15,000. Raghavan pushed in about 23,000 and Phan quickly shoved for 45,100. Raghavan called with {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} but was way behind {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}.
