Stewart Down to Ten Bigs

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Scott Stewart opened to 100,000 from under the gun and was called by James Todd Osborne on his left and Matthew Higgins in the big blind. The flop came {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and the action checked around to the {5-Spades} on the turn.

All three players checked again and the {k-Spades} paired the board on the river. Higgins led out with a bet of 250,000 and Stewart made the call, while Osborne quickly folded. Higgins flipped over {k-Hearts}{4-Spades} for trip kings and Stewart sent his cards to the muck.

More Chips for Allen

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Matthew Higgins opened to 100,000 from under the gun and was called by Lytle Allen and Bryan Piccioli in the blinds. The flop fell {10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} and the action checked to Higgins who continued for 150,000. Allen called and Piccioli got out of the way.

The turn brought the {7-Spades} and both players checked to the {j-Diamonds} on the river. Allen led out with a bet of 200,000 and Higgins flicked in a call. Allen whipped over {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a straight and collected the pot.

Osborne Doubles Through Cartwright

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Kyle Cartwright opened to 100,000 from under the gun and James Todd Osborne jammed all in for around 500,000 in the big blind. Cartwright quickly called and found himself as a slight favorite.

James Todd Osborne: {k-Spades}{q-Spades}
Kyle Cartwright: {a-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

The flop of {7-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Hearts} left Cartwright in the lead with his ace-high. However, the {k-Diamonds} on the turn gave Osborne a pair of kings and Cartwright couldn't catch an ace on the river.

Allen Doubles in the First Hand

Level 27 : 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

In the very first hand of the day, two premium hands were dealt out and it was Lylte Allen and James Todd Osborne who got all of their chips in the middle preflop. Allen was the player at risk for 1,615,000 but was in a prime position to double up.

Lytle Allen: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
James Todd Osborne: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

The board ran out {j-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Hearts}{5-Spades}{6-Clubs} and Allen scored a double up with hardly any sweat at all.

The Final Six Players Return for Day 3 in the $1,700 Main Event

Bryan Piccioli
Bryan Piccioli

There will be six players returning to the felt for the final day of the World Series of Poker Circuit Horseshoe Tunica $1,700 Main Event. It is a stacked final table with each player having a shot at claiming the title and booking their spots to the 2020 Global Casino Championship later this year.

Among them include defending champion Kyle Cartwright who bagged up the chip lead and sits in the pole position. Cartwright had a mightily impressive Day 2 as he bagged up 4,285,000 chips, although he noted it could have been even better. Matthew Higgins currently sits in second place with 2,900,000 followed by James Todd Osborne with 2,190,000, both of who squeaked into the money with less than five big blinds on the bubble.

Scott Stewart (2,165,000), Lytle Allen (1,615,000), and Bryan Piccioli (1,580,000) round out the remaining players at the final table. Both Stewart and Piccioli have a history of making deep runs together including the 2017 WSOP Main Event as well as just last weekend at the WSOP Circuit Thunder Valley Main Event where they both made the final table.

The cards will go in the air at 12 p.m. local time with the blinds resuming on level 27 at 25,000/50,000 and a 50,000 big blind ante. The levels will continue to be 60 minutes in length with a 15-minute break after every two levels. There is still plenty of cash to play for with the largest pay jumps still to come. Each player has already locked up over $28,000 but with $144,313 awaiting the winner, there is still plenty to play for.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be here to bring you all of the updates from the first pitch of the cards until a winner is crowned later in the day.
