Day 2 of the 2020 World Series of Poker Circuit Potawatomi $1,700 Main Event kicks off at Noon today, with 82 of the 524 entrants returning to action. Play will resume with 26:15 remaining in Level 16 (2,000/4,000/4,000), and the plan is to complete that level, then play ten more one-hour levels, ending play for the evening at the completion of Level 26.

Igor Hot comes into Day 2 with the chip lead, his 485,000 chips holding a slim lead over fellow Day 1b opponents John Gallaher (459,000) and Craig Trost (458,000). Vincent Torcolese (453,000) and Day 1a chip leader Chris Roth (420,000) round out the top 5.

Richard Bai (280,000), who won this very event in September for $138,317, headlines a talented field of remaining players in the hunt for the Main Event ring, and he'll be joined by another former champ in Michael Hudson (331,000). Other notables returning for Day 2 action include Phil Mader (287,000), Javier Zarco (212,000), Kou Vang (204,000), Aaron Johnson (187,000), Allen Kessler (114,000), and 12-time WSOPC ring winner Josh Reichard (83,000).

The 524 entrants built up a prize pool of $793,860, crushing the $500,000 guarantee. 79 players will walk away with a piece of the prize pool, with a min-cash worth $2,770. Making the official final table of nine guarantees a $14,514 payday, and the eventual champion will walk home with $151,284, along with the WSOPC ring and a seat in the 2020 WSOPC Global Championship.

Be sure to follow along right here on PokerNews as we move closer to crowning a champion here at Potawatomi Hotel and Casino!

Brinn Doubles Through Tucker

Level 16 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Cody Brinn
Cody Brinn

Kyle Tucker bet 22,000 from under the gun on a {9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{3-Clubs} board, and Cody Brinn, who's been affectionately called "Fozzy Bear" by many of the dealers and staff this weekend, raised to 50,000 from the button. Tucker called.

Tucker checked the {3-Spades} river to Brinn, who jammed for 71,000.

"Does he got me covered?" Tucker asked. Brinn quickly replied, "No."

Tucker tanked for a minute, then called. Brinn turned over {9-Spades}{8-Spades} for a full house, and Tucker showed his {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} before sending most of his remaining chips to Brinn.

Matthew Ploof

Matthew Ploof opened under the gun for 12,000 and Michael Banducci three-bet to 38,000 from late position. Action folded back around to Ploof who four-bet jammed for 173,000 and was called by Banducci.

Ravi Raghavan

Ravi Raghavan jammed for 50,000 from under the gun, and action folded to John Gallaher in the big blind.

"I think I have this guy's favorite hand," Gallaher said, gesturing towards Ryan "Jesus" Scully, before calling.

Ravi Raghavan: {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts}
John Gallaher: {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

"How'd you know?" Scully said with a laugh.

Gallaher pulled ahead on the {8-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{9-Spades} flop, and improved to trips on the {8-Clubs} turn, leaving Raghavan looking for a five to survive.

"I jinxed you, didn't I?" Scully said to Raghavan.

"Nope!" Raghavan said once the {5-Clubs} fell on the river, sending him an unlikely double.

Pratap Golla
Pratap Golla

Pratap Golla bet 70,000 into a pot of 125,000 on a {q-Spades}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} board from the big blind, and Nikolas Stone tanked for a minute before making the call from the hijack.

The {7-Hearts} completed the board on the river, and Golla bet 500,000, more than enough to put Stone at risk for his last 220,000. Stone thought for just a moment before releasing his hand.
