Two Seat Open on Day 1b Already

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

Alfredo Cuti saw his stack cut down in a matter of 15 minutes as he became the first casualty and Ibrahim Usta followed soon after, explaining to his friend in the field that he apparently ran queens into aces? With 250 big blinds in the first level of play, that can happen after all.

Nanchev Loses a Chunk Early On

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

The start into Day 1b for Aleksandar Nanchev appears to have been a tricky one as he just lost a bigger pot. More than 18,000 were in the middle to the {j-Spades}{10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{7-Spades} river on which Nanchev checked from under the gun. His table neighbour Bulent Belek checked back and Nanchev revealed the {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for ace-queen high, having missed the gutshot.

Belek had that beat with {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for two pair and chipped up.

Diefenbach Doubles Through Pulvermueller

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

More than 45,000 were in the middle already to the {10-Spades}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Clubs} river on which Frank Diefenbach checked and then faced the all-in by Michael Pulvermueller for 25,000. Diefenbach thought about it for some 15 seconds and then called for 23,500 to get shown the {a-Spades}{10-Hearts} for the top pair and top kicker. He had that beat with {8-Spades}{8-Hearts} for a set and Pulvermueller was left with fumes.

"You accomplish that with one hand and I need 20 for it," fellow early big stack Yusuf Oezkacar joked.

Pulvermueller Back from the Brink

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

Michael Pulvermueller was on his way out of the tournament area but got called back as he had a chip and a chair. Two double ups later, he got it in for 5,600 with the {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts} against the {a-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} of Nicolae Mihai and prevailed on the {k-Hearts}{8-Spades}{3-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} board.

He then was at risk for 12,000 with {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} against his former nemesis Frank Diefenbach, who tabled the {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. The board ran out {k-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{7-Spades}{10-Spades} and just like that, Pulvermueller was back on half the starting stack.

Yazbeck Gets Paid On The River

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

On the river, the board was {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{4-Clubs} with 32,000 chips already in the pot.

Mahmoud Yazbeck bet a chunky 27,000 which made Mehmet Oegruek restless whilst wrestling with his bottle of sparkling water. Oegruek found a call and to his dismay, Yazbeck rolled over {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for a full house.

Lunario Loses Flip to Vranken

Level 2 : 100/300, 300 ante
Antoine Vranken
Antoine Vranken

The entire betting action was unknown as the cards were already on their backs with Daniele Lunario at risk for what appeared to be 37,200. He was looked up by Antoine Vranken and it was a classic flip.

Daniele Lunario: {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Antoine Vranken: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

The {k-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{q-Spades} board improved Vranken and he nearly doubled up his stack to kick off Day 1b with a bang.

Sen Jams Up His Stack

Level 2 : 100/300, 300 ante

Heading to the {j-Clubs}{9-Spades}{3-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} river with some 32,000 already in the middle, Ali Behzad checked his option while he was enjoying a massage. Orhan Sen then pushed for what appeared to be 40,300 in the cutoff and Behzad reluctantly folded.

"Set of nines or threes, one hundred percent sure," Ionut Barbosu in the one seat said in table chat. Sen didn't show any of his cards, so his holdings will remain a mystery for the table.

Bise Back In; Lerca Out for Now

Level 2 : 100/300, 300 ante

Emil Bise was eliminated at the end of the first level and he was joined on the rail by George Lerca, who bowed out on Bise's new table.

Lerca was all-in for 28,500 on the {j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} turn and tabled the {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}. Jan Hajek had that crushed with {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} and the {4-Clubs} river kept the superior pocket pair in the lead.
