Welcome to Day 2 of the 2022 WSOP International Circuit €1,700 Main Event at King's Resort

Poker Arena at King's Resort
Poker Arena at King's Resort

The Spring Edition of the 2022 WSOP International Circuit at the King's Resort in Rozvadov is gearing up for the conclusion of the series. Only three days remain and two of the coveted WSOP Circuit gold rings are still up for grabs. One of them will be awarded tonight as the €1,000 Bounty Hunter Event plays all the way down to a winner.

However, all eyes in Europe's biggest poker room are set on the marquee €1,700 Main Event with its enormous €1,000,000 guarantee. While the previous two editions in September 2021 and January 2022 breezed past the seven-figure amount, there is a potential overlay on the horizon this time. So far, the first two starting days attracted a field of 553 entries of which 194 players bagged up chips.

Some 645 entries are required to cover the guarantee and 20 of them will join the fray via the satellites. All those wishing to take a shot at the action can enter during the first two 60-minute levels and following 30-minute break. Recommencing blinds will be 1,000-2,000 with a big blind ante of 2,000 during the final stages of the registration period, in which players can also use a maximum of two re-entries as well.

Leading the field into Day 2 is Birger Ohl with 497,100 in chips followed by Tibor Nagygyörgy, who has 479,100 at his disposal. Other notables in the overnight top ten are Pierre Trauer (413,000), €2,200 High Roller ring event winner Fausto Tantillo (336,900) and Vincent De Neve (329,000).

Other notables with above-average stacks include Josef Gulas (277,300), Michael Roe (268,900), Claudio Di Giacomo (261,600), Josef Snejberg (255.400), Sergej Barbarez (245,800), Jaroslav Peter (223,600), Stanislav Koleno (222,000), and Michal Mrakes (220,500).

The winners of the last two WSOP Circuit Main Events at King's Resort also remain in contention. Andrea Ricci returns with 272,200) while Feyzullah Karaarslan has 110,000 at his disposal. They are joined by the WSOP bracelet winners Emil Bise (185,300), Dalibor Dula (182,400), Albert Hoekendijk (134,700), Antoine Vranken (74,700), Jason Wheeler (52,900), Sergiu Covrig (51,000), and GGPoker ambassador Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier (46,000).

A total of ten levels of 60 minutes each are scheduled for Day 2 and the late registration period will end at around 4.30 pm local time. Once the overall field size is set, the live stream action on the King's Resort Twitch and YouTube channels will get underway as well.

It is expected that today's poker action will get close to and potentially burst the money bubble while Day 3 then plays all the way down to the official final table. The PokerNews team will be on the floor to provide as many key hands as possible en route to crowning the champion in Rozvadov.

The satellite with eight tickets up for grabs is still ongoing as 13 hopefuls are battling for the chance to join the €1,700 Main Event at a bargain. In the meanwhile, Day 2 has kicked off and at least 36 players have already entered before the cards went in the air.

This includes David Taborsky, Pierre Neuville, Elias Abou Saleh, and the 2021 WSOP Europe Main Event champion Josef Gulas Jr.

Jungevicius Loses a Bigger Chunk Early On

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

The cards were already on their backs with Silviu Baltateanu and Aleksandar Batovac all-in and at risk against Kestutis Jungevicius. They were flipping with {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds} and {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} respectively as Jungevicius had the {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}. On a board of {a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{6-Spades}{j-Spades}, the ace appeared and Jungevicius lost nearly 40% of his stack as both shorter stacks survived.

Anagnostidis Blinded Out

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

On the first hand of the day, the shortest stack in the room Anestis Anagnostidis who was not present at the table was unfortunate enough to be in the big blind. With the big-blind ante in play, this left Anagnostidis with less than half a big blind.

Sebastian Ulrich bet 6,500 on a board of {q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts} but was raised by Nicolas Maillaud to the tune of 26,000. Ulrich quickly folded

On the next hand, Anagnostidis's remaining chips were in the middle. Once again Maillaud won the pot after a 20,000 bet on a board of {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{8-Clubs} which Dritan Kaleci wanted no part of.

Early Double for Tabacaru

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Yishay Bechor raised to 4,000 on the button and reluctantly called the shove by Ion Tabacaru in the big blind for the last 16,800.

Ion Tabacaru: {k-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Yishay Bechor: {q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

The board ran out {k-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-Spades}{10-Hearts}{3-Clubs} and the pair of kings prevailed for Tabacaru, as he avoided a re-entry for now.

Kabrhel Jams Up His Stack

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Thivakaran Sundaralingam raised to 6,000 and Martin Kabrhel in the hijack then three-bet to 16,000. Arin Mohamad four-bet to 39,000 in the cutoff to force out the initial raiser while Kabrhel then engaged in table chat.

"Is it possible that you fold?" he asked Mohamad and Kabrhel then moved all-in shortly after. Indeed, Mohamad went into the tank and surrendered after some two minutes of consideration.

"I overplayed my aces so badly," Kabrhel joked.

Trauer Jams Up Stack Against Johnna

Level 10 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

In a battle button versus big blind, a larger pot pot developed between John Johnna and Pierre Trauer. They headed to the {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Spades}{6-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} river on which Trauer pushed all-in with the far superior stack. The usually very jovial and talkative Johnna was silent and eventually pushed his cards into the muck.

As soon as the hand was over, the table broke and all headed to new homes. Trauer needed the most time to rack up his large stack, which is now approaching nearly half a million in chips.
