Donnini's Creativity Pays Off

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante
Danilo Donnini
Danilo Donnini

Four ways to the {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} flop, Dogan Guengoer checked out of the small blind and was the only one to call a bet worth 5,600 by Danilo Donnini in the cutoff. Guengoer check-called another 10,700 on the {8-Diamonds} turn and checked the {2-Spades} river. He tabled the {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a huge busted draw while Donnini won the pot with the {8-Hearts}{2-Hearts}.

Another player at the table wiggled the finger at the Italian, who shrugged while raking in the pot.

Two Seat Open so Far

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

Usually, the pace of eliminations in the early levels is not as slow with just two casualties in the opening level for the time being. The first one was Agostino Scozzari, who swiftly re-entered, and Ferhat Yildiz did the same before running up a profit on the second bullet.

In the meanwhile, [Removed:520] has already lost a big portion of his stack over on table 80 and may get the rest of it in soon.

Toujani Takes From Safar

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

Joining the action on the {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop, Michal Safar checked out of the small blind and called a bet worth 600 by Fouad Toujani. Safar then check-raised the {9-Diamonds} turn from 1,200 to 3,800, which Toujani called. They headed to the {5-Clubs} river on which Safar checked once more.

Toujani now made it 6,500 to go and that proved to be enough to win the pot without any further resistance. Nandor Solyom can also be found at the same table and already lost a decent chunk of his stack, while Ferhat Yilmaz appears to have benefitted from that.

Moagi Takes From Albanese

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

Michael Nuesslein already lost half of his stack as Vito Branciforte thrived early on and the same table also featured another interesting hand as well. Natale Albanese opened from under the gun to get called by both players in the blinds including Cecil Moagi.

Only Moagi check-called for 700 on the {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}{j-Diamonds} flop and did so again for 1,600 on the {2-Clubs} turn. After the {6-Diamonds} river, Moagi checked and Albanese bet 6,500 and Moagi tanked for a minute before calling. As the first player after the button, Moagi rolled over {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades} and Albanese mucked.

De Meulder Back in Action

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante
Matthias de Meulder
Matthias de Meulder

Matthias de Meulder was among the Day 1a casualties and opted to re-enter the second starting day. He just raised to 500 and was called by Ilyas Oualaouch out of the blinds. Both players checked the {9-Clubs}{7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} flop and Oualaouch then bet the {8-Spades} turn for 600, earning a call from de Meulder.

On the {q-Hearts} river, Oualaouch bet another 1,600 and won the pot uncontested.

Fireworks From Gicovanu Right Out of the Gate

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante
Marius Gicovanu
Marius Gicovanu

While all players start with 250 big blinds, it doesn't mean that the action is necessarily slow in the first level. A very large pot developed in essentially the first hand when Marius Gicovanu battled with Atanas Nikolov. Some 58,000 were in the middle to the {10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{7-Clubs}{k-Clubs} river on which Gicovanu moved all-in.

Nikolov had already invested more than half of his stack and eventually surrendered.
