New Chipleader

Level 21 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Hicham Mahmouki just told PokerNews how he took the chiplead before the dinner break.

A player opened to 25,000 on the button and Mahmouki three-bet to 100,000 from the small blind. Opponent raised it to 225,000 and Mahmouki decided to shove for 750,000.

The button player called and revealed {q-Spades}{q-Clubs} and Mahmouki had {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}.
The flop came {q-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts} giving top set to the Queens but Mahmouki found a heart to climb at the top of the chipcount.

Mamouni Sends Fares Out

Level 21 : Blinds 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Mamouni Mohamed

Mohamed Mamouni opened for 32,000 on the button and both Jean-Luc Adam and Hassan Fares called in the blinds.

On the flop {q-Spades}{j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}, all players checked.

On the turn {10-Clubs}, Mamouni bet 50,000, Adam folded and Fares raised it to 100,000.

Mamouni called to see a {7-Clubs} on the river. Fares moved all in with {j-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for two pairs and Mamouni quickly called with {q-Clubs}{3-Spades} as he rivered the flush.

Almost Two Million Chips

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

While Karim Kaladjou eliminated Tarik Bouhidour to take the chiplead, Paul-François Tedeschi climbed to 960,000.

The Corsican Player isolated on the button after an all in from the cut-off player.

As everyone folded, Tedeschi revealed {8-Clubs}{8-Spades} and beat {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} hold by his opponent.

Slow Action

Level 22 : Blinds 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

As the field count less than 40 players, action became slower and stack sizes bigger.

A player opened to 50,000 on the button and Sion Madar three-bet to 175,000 in the big blind.

His opponent didn't take long to announce all in for more than a million.

Madar called with As-King and hold against {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts} after a scary board {8-}{4-}{6-}{8-}{2-}.

PN Podcast: Postle Back in Poker & Guest Mori Eskandani Remembers Shares Mirage Stories

Level 23 : Blinds 10,000/25,000, 25,000 ante
PN Pod Mori Eskandani
PN Pod Mori Eskandani

In the latest PokerNews Podcast episode of 2023, Chad Holloway and Connor Richards handle things while Jesse Fullen is in Australia. They discuss Mike Postle’s sudden reappearance in the poker world after making a final table at the Million Dollar Heater at Beau Rivage in Mississippi, while also talking about the slowroll and needle that accompanied his bust out.

They try to balance that story with a heart-warming one where Johnnie “Johnnie Vibes” Moreno put a bartender into the MSPT Sycuan Main Event, with the recreational player going on to finish in fourth place for $40,000!

Other stories discussed include WSOP.com Player of the Years, Lon McEachern and Daniel Lowery winning WSOP Circuit gold rings, and early winners from the PokerGO Cup.

Speaking of which, PokerGO’s Mori Eskandani joins the show as this week’s guest. The Poker Hall of Famer talks 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) preparations, who came close to challenging Jason Koon on High Stakes Duel III (HSD), plus when we can expect the next HSD match to take place. He also discussed new developments to this year’s PokerGO Tour (PGT) and shared memories from the days when the Mirage was the hot spot for poker in Vegas.
