The 2024 edition of the WSOPC Marrakech at the Casino de Marrakech inside the Es Saadi Resort once again set new records. Following last year's 1,041 participants, a total of 1,163 entrants were registered after the initial flights of the 15,000 MAD Main Event.

However, from this large field, only 245 players successfully qualified for Day 2. Leading the pack is Jean-Pierre Grand-Moursel, who concluded Day 1b as the chip leader, surpassing Adrien Sanz (540,000). Sabry Ferhaoui, the chip leader of Day 1a with 463,000 chips, currently holds the third position in the overall chip counts, closely followed by Paul François Tedeschi (457,000).

Moroccan players Anas Tadini (273,000) and Mehdi Chaoui (215,000) are among the big stacks, alongside Erwann Pecheux (260,000) and 2019 WSOP Main Event champion Hossein Ensan (212,000). Imad Derwiche (170,000) and Javier Tsunamy (165,000) nearly bagged identical chip stacks, slightly ahead of Kuljinder Sidhu (130,000).

After securing the seventh WSOP ring of his career a few days ago, Sonny Franco will kick off Day 2 with 104,000 chips. However, the stack is relatively modest for WSOPC High Roller champion Dinesh Alt, who only managed to bag 37,000 chips on Day 1c. Similarly, Moundir Zoughari (42,500) and WSOP bracelet winners Kyle Julius (44,000), Jonathan Therme (37,000) and Romain Lewis (37,000) will return with very small stacks.

The tournament will resume at 1 p.m. local time on 60-minute levels, starting with blinds of 2,000/4,000 with a 4,000 big blind ante. The first goal of Day 2 will be to be in the money, as the bubble will burst during the day. The payouts will be announced at the begging of the Day.

The feature table live stream should be in action as well on a 30-minute delay later in this Day 2. PokerNews will be here with a coverage all day long, so stay tuned in here as players work their way to the money.
