Khaly Dang Is the Last Woman Standing and The First in Chips

The first flight of Event #8: $1,700 No Limit Holdem Main Event at the World Series of Poker Circuit Playground has ended. A total of 270 players fired on Day 1a with only 31 moving on to Day 2, and after the dust settled, it was Khaly Dang who held the overwhelming chip lead with a massive 945,000 stack. The Ontario native accumulated enough chips to put on a clinic during bubble play. By the time the players were in the money, she was the chip leader, and she would only gain more as the night went on. She will head into Day 2 as the only remaining woman from the Day 1a field and will hope to keep the momentum going.

Some other notables made the money and will advance to Day 2. 2023 Bracelet winner Chanracy Khun (329,000) will look to add a ring to the case, Las Vegas native Antonio De La Cruz (765,000) sits on a healthy pile and will look to get ring #1, and Drew Scott (505,000) will look to get some hardware after multiple WSOP final table appearances.

The players will be combined with the remaining players from the other two Day 1 flights on Sunday as they return for Day 2. They all locked up a minimum cash of $2,900 and will go into Day two in the money and ready to fight for the first-place prize that is yet to be announced. The total guarantee on this event is $1,500,000, with $405,000 being added from this flight alone.

The next flight kicks off Friday morning at 11 a.m. local time. It is yet to be seen if another player can surpass Dang as the overall chip leader, but everyone will have some serious work to do if they plan on catching her.
