With more than one million chips, the chip leaders of Day 1b of the €1,500 World Series of Poker Circuit Paris Main Event could have been the overall chip leaders all the way until the beginning of Day 2. But at Partouche Pasino Club, Arthur Bernard took this title thanks to a massive stack of 1,675,000 built on Day 1c.
After winning a big pot with kings over queens, the online qualifier kept building his stack to finish the day with almost 70 big blinds more than second-in-chips Maher Achour (1,041,000). Achour had slightly more during the final hands of the day, but WSOP bracelet winner Axel Bayout cracked his kings to double up (184,000).
Overall, 273 entries were recorded in the third of five flights of the tournament, bringing the total to 642 entries and the prize pool to around €867,000 for now. 41 players managed to find a bag at the end of the day and will be in the money on Day 2.

Alongside Bayout, several WSOP champions qualified for Day 2, including Giuseppe Zarbo (265,000), Antonin Teisseire (258,000) and David Daneshgar (193,000).
After doubling up with aces shortly before the end of the day, Remy Mougel will return with 624,000, the same stack as Codrin Dorofte. Olivier Arnault (458,000), who eliminated Pascal Perreault on the bubble, follows, as does Natasha Mercier, who had a strong start and finished with 297,000.
Remi Derossi (297,000), PMU PLAY Team Pro Florian Guimond (219,000) and Damien Gayer (189,000) are among the other qualifiers, along with Alexis Nicolai (172,000), Nicholas Petitti (140,000), seven-time WSOP Circuit ring winner Sonny Franco (135,000) and Tristan Clemencon (93,000).
Last but not least, Antoine Labat had to reenter and reached the money, but sits at the bottom of the chip counts with 36,000.
This Saturday, September 12, will be the last day to try to qualify for Day 2, with two flights scheduled. Day 1d will kick off at 1 p.m. local time and feature the same structure as the previous flights, with 40-minute levels. Day 1e, however, will start at 8 p.m. and be a turbo flight with 20-minute levels.
