Early Stages Going Well for Quignard

Level 2 : 50/100, 0 ante

The early stages of tournaments can be quite tedious to write about, as players slowly get into the rhythm of a multi-day tournament. So when you see flashes of different coloured chips all over the felt, you know an interesting hand is in progress.

On a {7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{8-Spades} board, and Pierre-Antoine Quignard was looking at a bet of roughly 3,000 chips. He made the call and both he and his opponent saw the {K-Diamonds} river card. Again his opponent bet, this time a little over 6,000 chips. Quignard thought for a moment before calling. His opponent flashed {5-}{9-} but Quignard's hand was best holding {6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a flush.

El Hachem Going Well

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

It was another case of follow the piles of brightly coloured chips which lead to El Hachem's table. The Moroccan player's bet of 2000 had been check-raised by his opponent to 4750 on a board of {J-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{A-Spades} and El Hachem made the call. The river was the {8-Clubs} and both players checked. His opponent meekly mucked his cards and El Hachem slammed down {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} for top pair, top kicker to take the pot and start building a stack partway through Level 3

Le Floch and Gerin Back Level

Level 3 : 75/150, 0 ante

Nicolas Le Floch had been going well before he got into a hand with Rebecca Gerin. Le Floch initially raised from the small blind and Gerin called in the big. They both saw a flop of {J-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Le Floch put out a continuation bet of 625, which was called by Gerin. The Frenchman put out another bet of 1500 on the {J-Hearts} turn which was also called, but he checked the {2-Hearts} on the river.

Gerin took her time before counting out 3500 which was called by Le Floch, but he winced as Gerin showed {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, with trips taking down yet another pot in this WSOPC Marrakech Main Event
