Benhamou Eliminated

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

News from our French colleagues reaches us that Brian Benhamou has been eliminated after his cold 4-bet shove with {9-}{9-} came up against the pocket jacks of Sofian Benaissa

There are currently 92 players from a starting field of 142 battling it out at the tables, with just one level available of reentry tonight.

Voltolina Eliminates Two Players

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

I said earlier that Achille Voltolina reentered this WSOPC Main Event, and he seems to be doing a lot better with his second bullet after eliminating two players in the same hand.

Preflop saw Voltolina raise to 8,000 over an open, and a player behind him shove all in. This shove was for less than the raise, and after Voltolina's bet got another caller, there was now a sidepot.

The flop was {K-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and Voltolina bet another 8,000. His opponent moved all-in and Voltolina made the call with {K-Spades}{3-Spades}. His top pair was way ahead of his opponents' holdings of {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}, and although the {J-Spades} on the turn opened the door, the {4-Spades} slammed it shut

Sadornil Flops a Boat

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

If Barny Boatman ever hung up his poker-playing shoes I reckon he'd be a mighty fine tournament reporter, with the detail he remembers hands. Sadly in this case it was a spot where he lost some chips.

On a board of {Q-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{9-Spades}{10-Diamonds} Boatman check-raised his opponent all-in holding {K-Spades}{2-Spades}. According to Boatman, his opponent Manuel Sadornil was a "serial bluffer", but this time he came up with the goods, holding {Q-}{Q-} for a flopped full house.

Sow Takes from Ring-Winner Lalwani

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

Six players all limped in and saw a flop of {Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Hearts}. One of them was Kalidou Sow whose bet of 1500 was raised by Rakesh Lalwani to 5200. It folded back to Sow, who then moved all-in for just under 20,000.

Lalwani and Sow both spoke back and forth in quick-fire French for a couple of minutes, before Lalwani threw in the chips to call.

Sow: {10-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Lalwani: {J-Hearts}{Q-Spades}

Lalwani, who earlier this week won a WSOP Circuit Ring in the Opening Event, needed a nine or a jack but the board bricked out {5-Spades}{6-Clubs}, giving Sow the chips and crippling Lalwani

Tedeschi Joins The Field

Level 7 : 200/400, 50 ante

Frenchman Paul Tedeschi has joined the field. He's currently a little under starting stack but I'm sure we'll soon start to see him accumulate chips
