Sefrioui Forces Abbouti Out

Level 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

Kamal Sefrioui raised to 1,700 UTG and watched as Sefrioui quickly decided to raise and threw out 4,400. The Moroccan thought for a long while before moving all-in. Abbouti had the chips to call, but decided better of it and now sits with little over 130,000. Sefrioui meanwhile has just above starting stack

Mikenas Making Moves

Level 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

Preflop Antony Wickert raised to 1,600 from the button and Paulius Mikenas, seated one place to the left in the small blind raised to 4,400. The big blind folded and Wickert made the call.

The flop came {10-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{A-Spades} and Mikenas lead for 4,600 which Wickert called. The turn came {K-Clubs}, and this time Mikenas checked, with Wickert becoming aggressor firing a bet of 5,200 which Mikenas called.

The river was the {10-Clubs}, pairing the board and again Mikenas checked. Antony Wickert quickly announced a bet of 7,000 and Mikenas called.

"You win," said Wickert, "King" he announced. Mikenas seemed reluctant to show his hand but eventually turned over {J-Hearts}{Q-Spades} to scoop the pot and put him above average

Toujani Flops Quads

Level 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

It's generally good to get into the habit of not showing your cards to your opponents, even if you win a pot uncontested. Except when you flop quads that is. Just like Day 1a chip-leader Sofian Benaissa did yesterday with pocket nines, Fouad Toujani did today with pocket sixes after reraising preflop. However, he did not get any more value than that as his opponent check-folded the flop of {6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{6-Spades}. He triumphantly flipped over {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts} pointing out the number of sixes he had flopped.

Marrale Knocks Out El Otmani

Level 11 : 500/1,000, 100 ante

Three players saw a flop of {4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{J-Clubs}. One of them was Remi Marrale who saw his bet of 2,300 called by one player and then raised to 13,000 by Houssine El Otmani. Marrale called and the {J-Hearts} was dealt on the turn.

Marrale checked and El Otmani swiftly moved all-in and Marrale made the call.

El Otmani: {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}
Marrale: {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}

Marrale had El Otmani crushed, and the {K-Clubs} sealed his fate, with the chips going to Marrale who has twice the average stack

Last Level of the Day

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Players are now just 45 minutes away from bagging and tagging their remaining chips ahead of Day 2 tomorrow. There are currently 141 players remaining, and we will have to wait and see just how many of them will be joining the 55 from Day 1a.

Nokra Loses Chips to Vizcaino

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

David Vizcaino opened from the button and former chipleader Mouad Nokra raised to 5,500 from the small blind. The big blind folded and Vizcaino called. Both players saw a flop of {8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}.

Nokra was first to act, and slid forward a small bet of 3,000. Vizcaino wasted no time at all in raising to 15,000. Nokra made a big show of first drawing back his initial bet, before sliding out a colossal 37,000 chips. Again Vizcaino waited less than a minute to make his decision and he moved all-in for his remaining chips. Nokra folded and Vizcaino pulled in a massive pot
