Schmidt Triples

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Paul Giaca raised to 10,000 and John-Paul Schmidt moved all in for 22,000. Dieter Kramar called out of the big blind and the rest of the table laughed, fearing the worst for the player at risk as Kramar had already busted two players lately. Giaca called as well and the board ran out {7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{A-Spades}. All streets were checked down and Schmidt tripled up with {A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}, the pair of Schmidt was not good enough.

Some Chip Updates

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

A trio of well known names increased their stacks significantly whereas Martin Kabrhel dropped some. Marek Blasko, currently still in the lead in the player of the festival ranking, also moved up some as well.

Meciar Doubles

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Martin Meciar had lost a ton of his stack and then doubled up through Ivan Mutapcic after a flop of {3-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}. Meciar cracked the {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} of his opponent with {3-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} for a set and the {4-Clubs} turn and {9-Diamonds} river blanked. Mutapcic had 7,000 chips left and busted the next hand with {Q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} against the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts} of Jens Steuber.

Stephan Continues Domination

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Steven Stephan cracked the pocket aces of Jathan Klüpfel, though the latter didn't go broke but lost about half the stack.

Sasa Lalos faced a similar decision after three-betting to 25,000 out of the small blind and eventually folded to a shove.

The Sound of Silence

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

The chips are still splashing left and right but barely any dealer announced a seat open as of lately. Only Aleksandr Terentev and Max Konrad Leonhard were sent to the rail to reduce the field to 128 players. About two third of the hopefuls will go empty-handed still.

Cohen Folds the River

Level 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

Yehuda Cohen faced the all in for his tournament life on the river of a board reading {2-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Spades} in a pot of well over 70,000 chips. Cohen only had 50,000 behind and tanked for a few minutes before relasing {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} into the muck.

Erdar Wins Big Pot with Aces

Level 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Süleyman Erdar
Süleyman Erdar

In the last hand of the previous level, Vasili Firsau raised to 9,000 from the cutoff and Süleyman Erdar three-bet to 27,000 from the button, which Firsau called. On the flop {3-Spades}{K-Clubs}{J-Spades}, Firsau check-called a bet of 30,000 and did so again for 50,000 on the {4-Hearts} turn. The {Q-Hearts} came on the river and Firsau fired 121,000.

Erdar was having a tough decision and ultimately tossed in a chip for the call to get shown {5-Spades}{7-Spades} by Firsau for the busted combo draw. Erdar jumped up, celebrated and then showed his winning {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}.
