Recovery Mode by Smith

Level 5 : 300/600, 75 ante

Martin Kabrhel won another small pot against Quirin Zech and the next hand saw Elliot Smith heads-up against Renato Nowak on the flop {10-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. Both players checked and Smith then bet the {2-Hearts} turn for 1,500, which Nowak called. The {2-Diamonds} river triggered a bet worth 5,000 by Smith and Nowak paid him off to muck to the {A-Clubs}{Q-Spades} of the Canadian.

Kabrhel Takes the Next Pot

Level 5 : 300/600, 75 ante

Martin Kabrhel opened to 1,600 and was called three ways to see the flop of {5-Spades}{8-Spades}{K-Clubs}. Here, the action checked to Quirin Zech and the German bet 3,500, only Kabrhel called. The Czech check-called a bet of 8,200 after the {2-Spades} turn and then double checked his cards when the {Q-Spades} fell on the river. Kabrhel bet 16,625 and Zech quickly folded.

Another Small Pot For Mothes

Level 4 : 250/500, 50 ante

Paul Newey opens up to 1,300 on the feature table with {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} before Mothes three-bets the pot to 3,600 with {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}. Newey calls setting up the flop of {9-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Spades}, which both players opt to check.

Newey stabbed at the pot with a bet of 4,800 holding bottom pair after the {9-Clubs} the turn and Mothes called. On the river came the {2-Diamonds} which Newey check/folded after Mothes attempted to extract value with a bet of 12,300.

Smith Takes from Cantarella

Level 4 : 250/500, 50 ante

In the hijack seat, Elliot Smith raised to 1,200 and Franco Cantarella three-bet to 3,200 from one seat over to get a call by the Canadian. Both players checked the flop {A-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Smith then bet the {4-Clubs} turn for 2,500. Cantarella raised to 6,500 and was called before Smith checked the {8-Diamonds} river.

Cantarella fired 16,300 and that almost got Smith to fold, though the Canadian ended up calling after plenty of consideration. Smith announced ace-queen and Cantarella said that was good before getting shown {A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}. Cantarella didn't show his inferior cards and revealed in the chat after the end of the hand that both had a gentleman's agreement and did the same several times before.

Pierre Mothes Wins the Battle of the Bluffs

Level 4 : 250/500, 50 ante

Pierre Mothes

On the feature table, Pierre Mothes opened the action with {q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for 1,200 under the gun. Besim Hot called from the small blind with {k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}, and Aleksandar Tomovic called with {7-Spades}{4-Clubs} from the big blind.

The flop of {8-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} was of no help to any of the players. None-the-less, Mothes made a standard continuation bet of 2,200 chips after the action was checked to him, which Tomovic called after Hot laid down his hand.

The {9-Diamonds} came on the turn, giving Mothes a flush draw, and Tomovic drawing to two outs for a gut-shot straight. Tomovic once again checked and Mothes fired a second bullet for 4,600 chips which Tomovic called.

On the river came the {9-Clubs}. Tomovic opted to bet 9,000, knowing this was the only way for him to take down the pot. Mothes smelled weakness and raised the action to 26,800. After Tomovic quickly folded, Mothes shared his bluff with the better hand.

Smith Below Starting Stack Again

Level 4 : 250/500, 50 ante

Renato Nowak on the button called a squeeze by Elliot Smith to 2,000 out of the big blind and they saw the heads-up flop of {K-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}. Smith quickly continued with a bet of 2,000 and was called before checking the {8-Spades} turn. Nowak now fired 5,500 and received a call before the {K-Diamonds} on the river slowed down all action and resulted in two checks.

Nowak flipped over {10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} and that won the pot.
