Frey Goes Runner-Runner to Bust Margarita

Level 11 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Andres Frey called the shove by Gennaro Margarita for 26,500 and it was a flip. Margarita had the {8-Spades}{8-Clubs} while Frey held {k-Spades}{q-Hearts} for the overcards. Margarita hit a set on {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and Frey already sighed, barely noticed the {6-Hearts} turn and {9-Hearts} river.

"It's always the same", Frey complained before the dealer told him he actually won the hand. Frey took off his sunglasses and then noticed the flush.

Sabbatino Doubles Through Levi

Level 11 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Pascal Vos had spun up his re-entry to more than three times the starting stack while Saverio Sabbatino saw his stack dwindle.

The Italian then three-bet jammed with the {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. Shahar Levi called with {7-Spades}{7-Hearts} and spiked the {7-Diamonds} in the window. However, it was followed by the {k-Clubs}{q-Hearts} for both players to hit a set. Nothing changed with the {a-Diamonds} turn and the river was a blank, too.

Overgaard Eliminated by Ashelm

Robert Ashelm
Robert Ashelm

Tim Overgaard raised to 6,000 and Robert Ashelm then three-bet to 18,000 in the cutoff. Overgaard jammed for what appeared to be 105,000 and Ashelm made the call.

Tim Overgaard: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Robert Ashelm: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

Thanks to the {k-Spades}{10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{6-Spades} board, Ashelm improved to a pair of kings and sent Overgaard to the rail.

Nguyen Hits the Rail

Level 11 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Van Tiep Nguyen was spotted on the way out of the tournament area. His cards were already mucked and Eric Lange raked in the pot. Lange's {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts} had flopped a flush on the [8h7h65h9s10c] board to score the knockout.

Updated Counts

Level 11 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Koleno Busts One

Level 11 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Stanislav Koleno sent a shorter stack to the rail when he called a three-bet jam with the {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}. He was trailing versus {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} but got there thanks to the {j-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades} board.

The Mighty Ducks Hold for Studer

Level 11 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Daniel Studer got it in for 38,500 with the {2-Hearts}{2-Clubs} and was looked up by Rolf Van Brug with the {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{10-Spades} and the deuces shipped a double.

"I gotta take a picture of that," the Swiss joked to the dealer before raking in the pot.

Ramachandran Scores a Double

Level 11 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Kisohkumar Ramachandran scored a double with {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} as he made broadway on the {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{7-Spades}{j-Clubs}{q-Hearts} board. The cards of his opponent were already in the muck and the Swiss player doubled.
