Event #10: PLO High Roller Championship $1M Gtd

Day 1 Started

It's Time For Some Pot-Limit Omaha!

The 10th event of the 2020 GGPoker WSOP Online Super Circuit will be starting up shortly, and for the first time in the series, the game is not No-Limit Texas Hold'em. In this event, players will be getting four cards as opposed to two, as Pot-Limit Omaha is the name of the game!

In addition, the buy-in is up there for this one, at an even $10,000, with a prizepool of at least $1 million up for grabs. Some of pokers biggest names are already in the field, including Fedor Holz, Felipe Ramos, and Thai Ha, and there should be plenty more big names joining the field throughout the day.

The action will start up at 4 PM Eastern Time, and Pokernews will be here until the end to bring you all of the updates!

Fedor Holz Scores an Early Knockout

It looks less than 20 minutes for the first player to be knocked out on Fedor Holz's table, and it was the young German who put the final nail in the coffin.

Most of the damage was done on the hand before, between "ubicaprofi" and "KeijjoKonvehti". The finished board read {6-Hearts}{4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{5-Spades}, and "ubicaprofi" shoved all in for 6,300 and change, just under a pot sized bet. "KeijjoKonvehti" thought for abut 30 seconds, then called for most of his stack.

"ubicaprofi" - {7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
"KeijjoKonvehti" - {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}

"ubicaprofi" rivered a straight to crack the aces of "KeijjoKonvehti". That left him with just 1,500 in chips, and they would go in preflop the middle on the next hand against Holz.

Holz - {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{6-Clubs}
"KeijjoKonvehti" - {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}

Holz picked up a pair on the {j-Spades}{8-Clubs}{3-Hearts} flop, and picked up more outs with the {4-Clubs} turn. The river brought the {6-Spades}, giving Holz a winning two pair.

Swingy Start for Holz

Pot-Limit Omaha is a game known for it's heavy swings, and Fedor Holz is experiencing just that at the moment. After a hot start that saw him add 50% to his stack in the opening minutes, Holz is now one of the short stacks.

Holz had already lost a good chunk of his stack to "ubicaprofi" before this three way confrontation. Action started with "ubicaprofi" raising to 360. "JERIS BOLTSIN" called, and in the small blind, Holz reraised to 1,590. Both players called, and the flop came down {k-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{4-Spades}. A c-bet of 720 from Holz saw "ubicaprofi" fold, but "JERIS BOLTSIN" called to see the {9-Clubs} turn.

Holz checked this time, and "JERIS BOLTSIN" thought for only a few moments before setting the German all in. Holz tanked for about 20 seconds before folding, knocking him down to under 5,000.

However, on the very next hand, Holz would get his final chips in after a flop of {k-Hearts}{7-Spades}{9-Clubs}.

Holz - {q-Clubs}{2-Spades}{j-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
"ubicaprofi" - {k-Clubs}{9-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}

Holz had plenty of outs against the two pair of his opponent, and the {q-Spades} on the turn gave him a straight. A jack on the river insured that Holz would double up to just under his starting stack of 10,000.

First Break of the Day

Players are now on their first break. After nearly an hour of play, "London2Paris" has the chip lead, having nearly quadrupled his stack, with 38,218 in chips. Action will resume again shortly.

"ubicaprofi" Busts Fedor Holz

All of the action has been at Fedor Holz's table so far today, including this latest pot that saw Holz get eliminated.

Four players saw a flop of {8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}, and "ubicaprofi" bet pot, 2,340, first to act. Tournament chip leader "London2Paris" called, as did Holz, and the {q-Diamonds} came on the turn.

In a flash, "ubicaprofi" had bet pot once again, "London2Paris" folded, and Holz called all in.

"ubicaprofi" - {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}
Holz: {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

"ubicaprofi" had the lead with his flopped straight, but Holz could still catch about half the deck to win. However, the {a-Spades} river provided no help, sending the German pro to the rail. while boosting "ubicaprofi"'s stack towards the top of the counts.

"terhentelija" Scores a Knockout

"terhentelija" and his opponent "(2)Cranberri" got all of the latter's chips in preflop, with "terhentelija" holding {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{6-Spades}, while "(2)Cranberri" had {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{q-Spades}{j-Spades}.

The flop of {j-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} gave "(2)Cranberri" a ton of outs, but he wouldn't be able to overtake his opponent's aces, as the board finished out {3d] and {5-Hearts}.
