Day 1 Completed
The final bounty event of the 2020 GGPoker WSOP Online Super Circuit is now complete, and "BaccaratKing" from Mexico is the newest owner of a Circuit ring. They powered through a field of 3,463 in Event #14: Deepstack Bounty Hunters $500K Gtd to pocket the biggest share of the $692,600 prize pool. In addition to the $49,598 first place prize, "BaccaratKing" racked up $39,345 in bounty money.
This was the 14th ring event in the month-long series, and there are just four more chances to get a ring in this series. All four chances come on Sunday May 31st. PokerNews will be here covering the 2020 GGPoker WSOP Online Super Circuit until the final ring is awarded.
Final Table Results
The Day's Action
The first hand was dealt at 2pm Eastern, and the field grew steadily through the registration period. As has been typical in these ring events, they broke the guarantee with two hours still remaining for entry. By the time the gates came down at the registration desk, 3,463 entries had combined for another destroyed guarantee at $692,600.
The only final table player to figure in the big chip counts when entries closed was 3rd place finisher "RunGood2323". They first appeared in the top ten stacks just before registration ended, and held their own through crazy post registration period. There were more than 1,000 players still in action when entry closed, but an hour later, they were in the money.
The fast play didn't stop there. Nearly 200 more players busted in the next 20 minutes, and two hours later, there were less than 100 players left. For awhile during the final 200, it looked like "ElBiastoPoker" might make a run for the trophy, posting a top ten stack, and even the chip lead at one point, but they ultimately fell by the wayside in 99th place for more than $3,600 in combined prizes.
Just over an hour later, they were down to the final four tables, and another hour or so later the final nine was set.
"Seiya2020" was the first to go fairly quickly after the final table convened when their jacks couldn't win a race against the ace-queen of "tepuseenFD". They played eight handed for a few more minutes before "stonecoldshark16", "Cartman992", "JakSkellington", and "rung00se" all busted in rapid succession, each falling victim to one of the two players who wound up heads up.
The played four handed for about 10 minutes with most of the chips sitting in the stacks of "BaccaratKing" and "tepuseenFD". "GaoniAn97" then bowed out in fourth when "BaccaratKing" got there with trip tens, followed by "RunGood2323" in another case of "BaccaratKing" getting there.
That set up heads up between "BaccaratKing" with the bigger stack, and "tepuseenFD". They played heads up for a little over 10 minutes, and "tepuseenFD" came close to evening things up. When they finally got it in, there was barely 2M between them, with "BaccaratKing" holding the slight lead. "tepuseenFD" had the best jack, but "BaccaratKing" flopped two pair with theirs, and took it down.
There's one more day of action in the 2020 GGPoker WSOP Online Super Circuit. Sunday May 31st features two Main Events. The feature presentation will be Event #17: Main Event $5M Gtd, but for fans of four card poker there is also Event #16: PLO Main Event $1M Gtd, both starting at 3pm Eastern. The final day kicks off with Event #15: Monster Stack $500K GTD starting at 9am Eatstern, and the final ring will be handed out in Event #18: The Closer $500K Gtd [Turbo] starting at 6pm Eastern. PokerNews will be there to cover the action from the first hand to the last.
"tepuseenFD" raised to 920,000 and "BaccaratKing" called. The flop was and "BaccaratKing" check-raised the 960K bet to 2.72M. "tepuseenFD" called to see on the turn, and called the bet of 5.92M.
On the river, "tepuseenFD" shoved over the 6,336,000 bet, and "BaccaratKing" called it off with slightly more.
They both hit the jack on the flop, but "BaccaratKing" hit it harder, and "tepuseenFD" was left to commiserate with $34,874 in prizes and more than $12,000 in bounties.
"RunGood2323" had "BaccaratKing" dominated with ace-eight of clubs against ace-deuce off. But then four hearts came on the board, and the deuce of hearts played for "BaccaratKing" to end the run good of "RunGood2323" in 3rd place for $24,474 plus almost $4K in bounties.
"GaoniAn97" got it in with the best hand, ace-seve, against the king-ten of "BaccaratKing" but "BaccaratKing" flopped trip tens for the win.
All the chips are in two stacks, while "GaoniAn97" and "RunGood2323" limp along on fumes.
"rung00se" shoved the small blind over a cutoff raise from "BaccaratKing" and got called.
"BaccaratKing" flopped it and earned another bounty as "rung00se" went home in 5th with more than $16,000 in total prizes.
"JakSkellington" called it off in the small blind for his last 480k against a button shove from "BaccaratKing" and even though they hit the flop with a king, "BaccaratKing" ultimately ran out to the straight.
