The Ups and Downs of Eric Froehlich

Eric Froehlich lost almost of his chips when he moved all-in with pocket Nines only to find himself up against pocket Queens. That hit cost him all but 675 of his chips, and a few hands later he pushed those chips into the middle when he was dealt {A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. It looked like his timing was bad again, as Barry Greenstein moved in with {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} and Holger Clausen called that bet with {A-Spades}{K-Spades}.

The {K-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} flop gave Clausen trips, Greenstein a flush draw, and Froelich a seeming one-way ticket to the rail. But incredibly the turn and river both brought the diamonds Froehlich needed to make a flush of his own and triple up to 4,750. Claussen won the side pot and that brought his stack to 9,200, and Greenstein was left with just 900.
