Hachem vs. Raymer

Joe Hachem limped in from the cutoff, the button limped, the small blind completed, and Greg Raymer checked from the big blind. The flop was {6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}. The small blind checked, Raymer checked, Hachem bet 300, the button folded, the small blind folded, Raymer raised to 1,000, and Hachem called. The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and Raymer bet 1,500. Hachem counted out a stack of chips looking like he was about to make a raise, but ultimately folded.

After the hand, the button asked Raymer, "Could you beat a deuce?"

"What was your kicker?" Raymer wondered.

"An ace," said the button.

"You would have been old news," quipped Raymer.
