Slow Goings in the Pavilion

Not much has happened since we've returned from the dinner break. Most of the attention is being paid to the final 8 matches of the Heads-Up Championship, as spectators are lined up 3 and 4 deep to try and catch a glimpse of the action.

We've lost only 4 tables since 5:00 p.m., as is typical with any limit poker tournament.

We did, however, just see Barry Greenstein walking hurriedly toward the pavilion, perhaps an indication that he busted out of the Pot-Limit Omaha event. We'll be sure to find out and pass the information on to you.

Ferguson Plays Fast and It Pays

Chris "Jesus" Ferguson raised from the button and was called by only the big blind (BB). The flop came {K-Diamonds}

and the BB checked to Chris who bet 200; the BB called.

The turn was the {J-Diamonds}

. The BB passed once again and Chris fired a second bullet. This time, Chris' opponent check-raised, and Chris answered with a reraise; his opponent just called.

The {K-Clubs}

fell on the river and the BB checked to Chris, who fired one more time. His opponent mucked, and the hand brought Chris' chip count up to 7,300.

Liu Takes a Pot from Mueller

J.J. Liu bet every street in a hand against Greg "FBT" Mueller and would end up winning the pot with a set of 9's.

After the hand, Mueller smiled and said, "losing the minimum." Greg showed top pair, top kicker before mucking his hand.

The pot brought Liu's chip count up to right around 9,000.

Hellmuth's Aces Hold Up Against 6 Callers

Four players had limped into the pot before the action got around to a player in the small blind (SB) who put in a raise. Phil Hellmuth called from the big blind (BB) as did the four original callers, creating a 6-way pot going into the flop.

The first three cards off the deck were {A-Spades}
