Eliminations and Prize Payouts Mounting

With so many eliminations it is getting hard to report all the action. We have had several eliminations, bumping the prizepool into higher payouts. We will continue to bring you live updates as to the amount of eliminations, prizepool, and payouts as soon as they are made available to us.

Sean Chen Breaks 100K

Calling a preflop all-in of 30,000, Sean Chen turns over pocket nines and his opponent shows A-Q. His opponent flops a queen, but Chen catches runners for the queen-high straight. Chen is currently at 118,000.

Eliminations All Around

The line continues to grow at the Harrah's desk as more and more players continue to go all-in. The field has shrunk considerably since the money was reached and we will be posting all the prizepool information as soon as we can.

179 Players Remain

With "all-in" being heard nearly every thirty seconds, we have had quite the bombardment of eliminations. So far, almost 100 players have been eliminated since the cash was reached less than one hour ago.

Back From Break

The cards are in the air and the dealers are ready to finish their last push. Players seem more calm than they were before the break. Some of the all-in madness may be subsiding as players realize they are twenty minutes away from making Day 2 in a World Series of Poker event.

Now We Go To War

John Juanda
John Juanda
John Juanda made it 6,200 to go from middle position. The player in the small blind moved all-in for an additional 27,000. Juanda folded his hand, but was heckled by his opponent for the fold.

Opponent: "I thought you were a pro?"
Juanda: "Show what you had"
Opponent: "You pay me $20,000 and I'll show you"
Juanda: (jokingly) "Cash or chips? I'll give you cash but I'm not allowed to give you chips"
Opponent: "Okay"

After a brief pause, Juanda told his opponent, "Now we go to war".
