Greg Raymer is Eliminated

Greg Raymer raises from mid-position and gets re-raised to 2400 by another player. Raymer pushes all-in for 14,500 and the player calls. Raymer has {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} and is facing {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}. The board comes {4-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Raymer is eliminated.

John Juanda Gets Rivered

And in such cruel fashion. After John Juanda made a raise and two limpers chose to call they saw a flop of {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Spades}. The first limper bet 1,800, the second raised to 3,600, and when Juanda called the original bettor folded. The turn was the {3-Diamonds} and the other player moved in for 4,300. Juanda called and turned over pocket Eights for the set, while his opponent slow-played pocket Kings to seeming oblivion.

That is, right up to the point where the {K-Diamonds} spiked on the river to take the pot away from Juanda. He's down to 15,000 in chips.

Lawson slips with Big Slick

Ted Lawson makes it 900 to go pre-flop, an unknown player in the cut-off re-raises and is all-in for 3350. Lawson calls, and reveals {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} and his opponent turns over {7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}. The flop doesn't help Lawson much with a board reading {Q-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{J-Spades}, but when a {7-Hearts} fell on the turn, Lawson's stack fell to 7k.
