Clements' Pocket Pair Holds Up

After raising to 1225 in early position, Scott Clements was called by both the small blind and the big blind.

Flop: {A-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}

The hand was checked all the way to the river. The small blind player showed {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and Clements showed {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}. The big blind player mucked and Clements took the pot.

Rizen Misses His Coinflip

Eric "Rizen" Lynch just lost a significant chunk of his stack on a coinflip-- {A-Spades}{K-Clubs} vs. his opponent's {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}. The flop was {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{5-Diamonds}, pairing Lynch's king, but giving his opponent a set. The turn was the {6-Clubs}, the river was the {4-Diamonds} and Rizen shipped about 6,000 to his opponent, leaving him with 9,600 in chips.

Mary Jones Has Been Eliminated

Mary Jones
Mary Jones raised to 1,500 from early position. A player in middle position called her raise and they took a flop heads up. With the board reading {K-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}, Jones pushed all her chips toward the center. Her opponent quickly called and showed {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}. Jones, while behind in the hand, had outs with her {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}. But it was not to be and the turn {8-Spades} and river {4-Spades} sealed her fate.
