Dan Heimiller was proud to show down two pair with tens and treys, but his excitement quickly subsided when "Sleepy" O'Neil Longson turned over a better two pair, kings and sevens. Heimiller is down to 2,700 while Longson sits behind a healthy 6,800 chips.
Scotty Nguyen bet every street with his opponent calling the whole way. By the river, Nguyen showed (X)-(X)-T-3-6-8-(X). Scotty bet 7th street and his opponent called, Nguyen revealed (T)(T)(8) for a full house. His opponent mucked and Nguyen chirped "I was hoping you had something baby!" Nguyen is now a force with about 8,000 chips.
Phil Gordon and Norman Chad got involved in a 4-way pot that saw betting on every street. Norman Chad and another player threw in the towel on 7th street but Gordon and other player did showdown. Gordon took down the high with one pair of aces. The other player took down the low with a 7-4-3-2-A. Norman Chad took a hit on the hand is down to 800 and Phil Gordon is sitting comfortably with 5K.
A short-stacked Norman Chad, who is still playing this event, is standing by to interview the winner of the $50K H.O.R.S.E. event which is down to the final 3 players. It will be interesting to see when and if this duty affects Chad's performance in this tournament.
After being short-stacked, Mel Judah found himself all-in on 7th street with a king-high flush draw. Another player made the low and they chopped the pot, but Mel survived and picked up chips in the process. He is now at 1,200.
Todd Brunson was just all-in on 3rd street but made a low on 6th street to win half of a pot that had 3 players to the river. Brunson is surviving with 900 chips.
All-in with QQ and an ace door card, Daniel Negreanu found the case queen on the river to win the high of the four-handed hand and split the pot. He's up to 550 in chips and is hoping for another double up.
