Just before the last level of Hold'em came to an end, high-stakes poker player Cory Zeidman eliminated a player from the field, taking control of the hand after the flop came 7-6-5.
Zeidman's opponent led out with a bet on the flop and Cory raised him, making it 300 to go; his opponent called.
The turn brought an eight, after which Cory bet and his opponent called again. A queen fell on the river and Cory made one last bet which put his opponent all in for his last 50; his opponent made the call.
At the showdown, Cory turned over A-8 for a pair of eights, which was good enough to take down the pot, as his opponent mucked his cards.
Allen Kessler waved one of our reporters over to his table and wanted to let the world know that the current average stack (approximately $3,258) only has nine big bets, expressing his dislike for the structure of the event.
Upon hearing Kessler's complaint, Raymond Davis followed suit and waved the same reporter over to his side of the table to say, "Allen 'The Blocker' Kessler is playing horrible poker."
The table got a pretty good kick out of their chatter.
We grabbed Daniel Negreanu on break from the $1K SHOE event (after he had already played in and busted from the $10K PLO earlier in the day). Daniel talked about changing up his routine by adding a little partying to the mix, playing in a low buy-in mixed games tournament, and his plans to gear up for the Main Event.
