Come On, This Is Exciting Stuff!!

The cameras at the ESPN Feature Table just zoomed in on a bearded gentleman who is sound asleep in the stands. He was just sitting there, eyes closed and counting sheep, when the camera zeroed in on him and broadcast his slumbering to the entire crowd. And he got the biggest round of applause of the day.

Rick Salomon Eliminated

Rick Salomon, who rose to fame as the significant other in the scandalous Paris Hilton sex video, has been eliminated from the Main Event.

Shame on us for not noticing him earlier, but in our defense, the quality of that video was pretty poor. And we weren't really paying attention to Salomon.

Ted Forrest Loses Three-way Pot

Hal Labarsky raised 3,200. Ted Forrest called. A player from the button re-raised to 21,000. The big blind raised to 47,000. Labarsky folded. Forrest went into the tank before he called.

Seat 1: A-K
Seat 3: A-A
Forrest: {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

The flop was {10-Spades}{8-Clubs}{3-Spades}. The turn was the {3-Clubs}. The river was the {6-Hearts}. The player holding pocket Aces tripled up. Forrest took a hit and his stack slipped to 172,000.

Labarsky folded 3-3. He would have flopped a set and turned quads.

A Higher Power?

You hear all sorts of screams and shouts and demands for justice when players bet the last of your chips. From across the floor we just heard a woman shriek, "THANK YOU GOD! I LOVE YOU!!!" as she hit a 1-outer on the river to stay in the tournament.

We didn't hear what the player she rivered said. But you can probably use your imagination and come up with a few things.

Carlos Mortensen

With the board showing {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} on the river, Carlos Mortensen puts his opponent all in for 26,000, and his opponent calls. Mortensen shows {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for a heart flush, and his opponent mucks.

Carlos Mortensen is up to 195,000.

Bill Gazes Eliminated

Bill Gazes raises from late position to 3,000, the cutoff reraises to 8,000, the small blind reraises to 15,000, Gazes moves all in, the cutoff moves all in over the top, and the small blind calls, covering them both. They show:

Bill Gazes: K-K
Cutoff: A-A
Small Blind: A-J

The pocket aces hold up, and Bill Gazes is eilminated from the Main Event.

Daniel Negreanu Eliminates Susie Isaacs and Wins a Huge Pot

A player in middle position raised to 3,100 and Susie Isaacs and Daniel Negreanu both called. The flop came {2-Spades}{5-Hearts}{A-Diamonds} and the original raiser bet 7,000. Isaacs moved in for 19,700 and Negreanu called. The raiser then moved all-in and had Negreanu covered.

"I think I've got you guys crushed...but I'm not sure," Negreanu said before making the call. He turned over pocket Deuces for bottom set while Isaacs held {A-Clubs}{J-Spades} and the other player {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}. The {6-Spades} on the turn meant that Isaacs and the other player were drawing dead, and Negreanu now has 145,000.
