Gus Hansen Misses Flush Draw

Gus "The Great Dane" Hansen
Gus "The Great Dane" Hansen
The board read {9-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. Gus Hansen called the 117,000 all-in of Tinten Olivier. The players showed...

Hansen: {J-Spades}{10-Spades}
Olivier: {K-Clubs}{J-Spades}

The turn came the {7-Hearts} and the river a {9-Hearts}. Olivier's king-high was best. As the dealer pushed the pot away from Hansen he said to himself, "Doesn't it suck when you have to call 117,000 with nothing?"

Mr. Rain Up to 1.16 Million

Jeff "Mr. Rain" Banghart jumped past the one million mark after he busted a player. Holding {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}, Mr. Rain cracked Daniel Fisher's {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}. Mr. Rain trailed until the {Q-Clubs} spiked on the river. He dragged the pot with a set and increased his stack to 1.16 million.

Hevad "Rain" Khan's Story

Hevad "Rain" Khan
Hevad "Rain" Khan
Interesting note about Hevad "Rain" Khan: He's the guy that has played up to 28 sit-and-go tables at once on PokerStars. Khan had to record himself to prove to PokerStars that he wasn't a bot, or a computer program.

Khan is also a former competitive (though not professional) StarCraft player (an extremely fast-paced computer strategy game). Practice at this game undoubtedly helped him in online -- and brick-and-mortar -- poker. The often-animated Khan has 815,000 in chips.

Yuri Bokkel Eliminated

Yuri's A-Q ran into the A-K of Ken Smith. All the money was in preflop and although Yuri hit a queen on the flop, Ken also hit a king. The turn and river were no help and Yuri's tournament is over.
