Kenna James vs. Amnon Filippi

Amnon Filippi
Amnon Filippi
Kenna James limps from early position for 600, along with a few other players, and Amnon Filippi raises from the small blind to 3,000. The big blind folds, and James reraises to 11,000. The other limpers all fold, and Filippi ponders the call for several minutes. He finally calls by tossing in another 8,000 in chips.

The flop comes {10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{2-Spades}, and both players check. The turn card is the {3-Clubs}, Filippi checks, and James slowly checks behind him. The river card is the {Q-Diamonds}, and Filippi starts sizing up his own chip stack. He says, "You can't check aces all the way down. No way. You have ace-king?"

Filippi studies James for a moment and then bets 16,000, leaving himself about 6,500 behind. James looks at Filippi and reluctantly folds, saying, "You hit three queens."

Filippi flashes his cards to someone before he mucks, and James asks the dealer to see the cards. Filippi says it's alright, and the dealer flips over {Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades}. Filippi rivered a set.

After the hand, Kenna James is down to about 24,000, while Amnon Filippi is up to about 52,500.
