Gus Hansen Wins 300K Pot

Gus Hansen
Gus Hansen
After both Gus Hansen and Ayaz Mahmood limped in from late position, Paul Spitzberg made it 80,000 to go from the big blind; both Hansen and Mahmood called.

The flop came {Q-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and Spitzberg led out with a 97,000 bet; Gus called and Ayaz got out of the way.

Both remaining players knuckled the table when the {7-Spades} came on the turn. A third seven fell on the river and Spitzberg checked to Gus, who fired out a 124,000 bet. Spitzberg reluctantly made the call, revealing A-K, and Gus would end up raking the pot with a full house (sevens full of tens), to the sound of thunderous applause from the gallery.

After the hand, Gus stacked up just under a million in chips.
