Tim West Advances to Final Table

During the first few hands of Level 7, John Juanda had chipped up and held a 321,000 to 279,000 advantage over Tim West. Then came the following two hands:

Juanda raised to 25,000 from the small blind/button, West reraised all in, and Juanda made the call. Juanda showed {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}, and West {A-Spades}{10-Clubs}. The flop came {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, and West had a commanding lead. The turn was the {5-Clubs} and the river the {A-Clubs}, giving West a boat. West was suddenly up to 579,000 versus Juanda's 21,000.

West had the small blind/button on the next hand, and without checking his cards went ahead and raised to 30,000. Juanda made the call.

West {Q-Spades}{7-Spades}
Juanda {K-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

The board ran out A-Q-9-3-8, and West's pair of queens gave him the last of Juanda's chips. A remarkable comeback: West had been down as low as 50,000 during heads up play.
