Dan Martin Triples Up

Tony Phillips raised to 3,000 from middle position, the player in the cutoff called, and Dan Martin reraised from the small blind with his last 11,900. Both Phillips and the cutoff called.

The flop came out {A-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and both players checked. The turn was the {J-Spades} and they checked again. The river brought the {5-Clubs}. Phillips checked, and Martin, thinking the cutoff player had already checked, turned over {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for Broadway.

At that point, the cutoff bet 4,000 into the dry side pot, and Phillips folded. The cutoff then shrugged and mucked his cards.

Martin is up to 36,700.

Good Laydown

We have a limped pot between Santos Ortiz and Eric Rosenman and the flop looks like {2-Spades} {J-Clubs} {3-Diamonds}.

Ortiz leads out for a 3,500 bet before seeing Rosenman move all in for 11,000 total. Ortiz tanks for a while before folding {A-Spades} {5-Spades} {A-Clubs} {10-Clubs} face-up.

It wasn't that much more for for him to call but when Rosenman revealed {2-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} {A-Hearts} {4-Hearts} we saw what a great read and laydown it was.

Ortiz is on 47,000.
Rosenman is on 21,000.

Were in the Money

Rafi Amit is our bubble boy, at the expense of Eugene Todd. Here's how the hand went down.

On a flop of {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Diamonds}, Todd checked from the small blind, Amit bet 4,000, Todd reraised enough to put Amit all in, and Amit called. Todd showed {9-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{7-Spades} for top pair and the open-ended straight draw. Amit showed {5-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{4-Spades} for top pair and a lesser straight draw.

The turn was the {3-Spades} and the river the {5-Hearts}. That river gave Todd his straight, and Amit is out in 73rd.

Nguyen Out

Just before we reached the bubble, Scotty Nguyen was eliminated.

With 7,500 in the pot, the flop came {7-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{2-Spades}. Nguyen checked, Tony Phillips bet 5,000, and Nguyen called. The turn was the {5-Clubs}, and Nguyen pushed in his last chips. Phillips called.

Nguyen {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}
Phillips {10-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

The river brought the {9-Clubs}, and Nguyen was out. Phillips is up to 80,000.

Smoking Shultz

Tom Shultz has just eliminated another player after getting it in with {J-?} {J-?} {7-?} {7-?}. His opponent was holding {A-?} {A-?} {6-?} {10-?} but when a jack fell on the turn he was out of here.

Shultz up to 48,000 now.

The Pressure is On

Vanessa Selbst
Vanessa Selbst
We are three away from the cash bubble, and the larger stacks are looking to start applying some pressure. We just heard chip leader Vanessa Selbst over at Table #1 saying she wasn't going to be folding any hands any time soon.
