Patgorski Eliminated; Griffin Advances

Gavin Griffin
Gavin Griffin
Gavin Griffin just became the fourth player to move into the 'elite eight' after eliminating heads up opponent John Patgorski from the tournament.

According to the dealer, Patgorski check-called bets of 24,000 and 45,000 on the flop and turn: {10-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{A-Clubs} {4-Spades}. On the river ({10-Hearts}), Patgorski checked again and Gavin made a 100,000 bet that put John all in. After some thought, Patgorski made the call prompting Griffin to reveal {Q-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} for a full boat. Patgorski then mucked his cards and counted down his chips, apparently unaware that he'd just called them all off.

Gavin will now face the winner of the Michael McNeil v. Jonathan Jaffe match.
