Phan Collects Monster Pot to Claim Chip Lead!

"Bo" Derrick Plyler limped in from early position before John Phan raised it to 15,000 on the button. Plyler then announced a reraise, making it 43,000 to go. Phan made the call and the two players took a flop of {4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{4-Hearts}.

Plyler then announced he was all in. It was 103,800 in total which just covered Phan's stack. Phan stood from his chair and thought for several minutes as the players gathered around to watch the hand unfold.

Phan then asked, "How many are players are left?" before leaving his seat and walking to the other end of the Brasilia Room to count the number of players left in the field.

The other players at the table then called a clock on Phan while he was away from the table.

When he returned he exclaimed, "I call! You have ace-king right?"

Plyler said, "Not ace-king," as he revealed {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}. Phan clapped his hands in delight as he showed {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}.

The turn was the {A-Spades} and river {5-Clubs} and Phan collect a huge pot worth nearly 300,000 to leave Plyler crippled.

After the hand we believe Phan was issued an informal warning to not walk away from the table while he is involved in a hand.

Jimmy Fricke Having Flashbacks

During the break, Jimmy Fricke came back to his table, took a look around and told the dealer, "This feels like a high school auditorium."

For those of you that haven't had the opportunity to come out to the World Series of Poker this year, the Brasilia Room is a banquet room that has a small stage setup in the middle of the left wall. If you put in theatre seating, this would make a decent high school auditorium.
