Doan vs Singer II

David Singer opened with a raise from middle position to 26,000 and Thuyen Doan re-popped it to 66,000 from the big blind. Singer made the call.

The flop came {3-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and Doan checked to Singer who announced he was all in. Doan was forced to fold as Singer takes down another pot from Doan to leave her with about 190,000 chips.

"How do you do it David?" came the tongue-in-cheek call from the rail from JC Tran during his break in the $10,000 Limit Hold'em World Championship.

"Just like you JC" came the reply from Singer.

"One bracelet ain't enough for you?" said Tran as he returned to his seat and Singer rakes in the pot to add to his growing stack.

Chris Grigorian Still Sweating the Action

I noticed Chris Grigorian was still sweating tonight's actions so I decided to pay him a visit. Don Mullis busted out of the event earlier but apparently Grigorian also has an interest in how Linda Lee is doing. According to Grigorian, Lee has asked for a few pointers from him to help improve her game. Grigorian has given her some advice and has decided to stick around and see if she can make the final table.

Play Slows

Over the last 30 minutes we've noticed a distinct tightening in the play of the remaining 12 players as they start to think about surviving the day and making a WSOP final table. We have several players who have never been in this situation before, while some of the more experienced players are taking advantage and flexing their muscle.

Singer Takes One From Doan

Thuyen Doan opened with a raise to 23,000 from the button and David Singer made the call from the big blind.

They saw a flop of {4-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{A-Clubs} and Singer checked to Doan who fired out a bet of 30,000. Singer made the call.

The turn landed the {A-Diamonds} and both players checked.

The river was the {J-Diamonds} and Singer led out for 85,000 sending Doan into the tank. She thought for a long time as the crowd gathered on the rail before eventually laying down her hand.

She is still in good shape with about 260,000 while Singer moves to 450,000.

Pay Debate Concludes....For Now

The final word in regards to the Dale Pinchot payout debate can be summarized as follows.

At the World Series of Poker, the only time a prize chop situation can occur is during a hand for hand situation. Since we were not in a hand for hand situation, bustouts occur in the order in which they happen. Although two players were all in at the same time, Pinchot was the first person to actually go broke. As a result, he received the appropriate payout.

Pinchot was not exactly pleased with this rule, but as it was explained to him, that is how things are done at the World Series of Poker. The player was told that they could go to Jack Effel and have him explain the rules and reason if he desired.

Pinchot thanked all the floormen for their time and headed off with a couple of friends. I think he realizes in the end that, "All Floor Decisions Are Final."

Floor!

During the break, Dale Pinchot has come over with Allen Kessler and Pinchot is demanding to see the floorman. Pinchot claims that he and Richard Tatalovich went out at the same time. Since there was a jump in money between 19 and 18, Pinchot claims that he should get the superior position. Allen Kessler is claiming that 19th and 18th place money should be split between the two.

The floorman explained that since we were not in hand-for-hand mode, this does not qualify as a chop situation. The debate continues as we head into the next level of play.
