Batista Forces a Fold

Chad Batista is up to 6,900. On the small blind, he reraised a 275 raise from the button to 775 and was called. Both players checked the {2-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} flop, and Batista fired out 1,100 on the {J-Spades} turn, which his opponent called. When Batista went all in for 3,100 on the river, though, his opponent folded.

Jennifer Tilly Eliminated

Much to my own personal chagrin, the visually pleasing Jennifer Tilly has been eliminated from today's event. I try to remain as unbiased as possible, but feel I must make an exception when it comes to someone as eye-catching as Miss Tilly.

Speaking of beautiful women, also gone is Maria Ho.

Black Hits Gutshot Straight Flush

Andy Black bet out on the flop with an open-ended straight draw and a flush draw; his opponent raised and Black reraised to put him all in. The opponent called, and Black hit his straight on the turn to eliminate his opponent, and hit a gratuitous gutshot straight flush for good measure on the river.

He's now on 10,700.

Golf versus Poker

His eye on the ball
His eye on the ball
It would appear today that golf is winning this battle as the hordes of poker players swamping the Amazon Room refuse to take their eyes off the plasma screens.

Over in the Brasilia Room, Maciek "Michael" Gracz has spent most of the last half hour sitting on the floor under the nearest screen as Tiger dominates the fairways.

However, his attention was drawn back to the tournament when he flopped bottom set holding {4-Clubs}{4-Spades} on a flop of {9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. Sadly for Gracz, his opponent held {6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} for a bigger set leaving the former WPT winner with a depleted stack of 1,400.
