Hmm . . . double-suited aces are often good in that spot.
Hmm . . . double-suited aces are often good in that spot.
Four-way all-in preflop:

UTG -- {K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Bill Chen (UTG+1) -- {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{8-Spades}
MP -- {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Ted Lawson (button) -- {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs}

Okay, Omahalics . . . who is the favorite here?

The answer, as Bill Chen surely knew, is Chen (by far). But did his hand hold up?

Board -- {10-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

UTG wins with quad tens. Chen and Lawson both rebought. Poor Chen lost with A-A-x-x yet again right afterwards (to Lawson), and rebought again.

Daut Triples

Ryan Daut has just tripled through Roland de Wolfe and an unknown player. Daut got all his chips in preflop, but de Wolfe and the other player created a side pot with their bet sizes.

de Wolfe bet into this side pot when the flop came {4-Diamonds} {A-Spades} {9-Hearts} and took it down when his opponent folded.

Now heads up, de Wolfe revealed {A-Clubs} {J-Hearts} {6-Hearts} {10-Spades}.

He was in trouble against Daut's {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} x

The turn and river changed nothing and Daut moved up to 15,600.

de Wolfe slips a little to 23,000.

Medic Diagnoses Side Bet

Dustin Dirksen and Paul Magriel just made a $50 side bet on what Andy Black had the previous hand. Dirksen had guessed a straight, and Black confirmed.

"Free information is always good," said Nenad Medic.

Gold Clubs Opponent

Jamie Gold raised pot on the button, the player in the small blind reraised pot, putting himself all in, and Gold called. Gold had {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}{10-Clubs}{2-Spades}, and his opponent {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{K-Spades}{4-Diamonds}.

The flop came {9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades}. "Club!" said Gold. The turn was the {J-Diamonds} and Gold was still behind. But the river was the {8-Clubs}, and he now has 14,000.

Crazy Eights

On a board showing {3-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, an early position player checked, Lee Watkinson bet 1,500 behind him, the EP raised to 15,000, and Watkinson called with the rest of his chips.

Watkinson showed {J-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} for a set of eights and a flush draw. His opponent showed {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Clubs} for two pair and a gutshot.

The river was the {10-Hearts}, and Watkinson is up to 23,000.
