Great Scott

Thomas Wahlroos took two hands to bust Scott Clements. The first hand saw Wahlroos make a set of kings on the river where he managed to get Clements to pay him off. That put Clements down to 16,000.

It wasn't long before Clements pushed all in preflop and it was Wahlroos who called him.

Clements had {K-Clubs} {A-Spades} {6-Spades} {7-Spades}.
Wahlroos had {A-Hearts} {A-Diamonds} {9-Spades} {3-Clubs}.

The board didn't help Clements and he busted.

Wahlroos up to 168,000.

Makowsky Takes Chips from Giannetti

On a flop of {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}, Matt Giannetti bet 11,700, Daniel Makowsky raised to 47,000 behind him, and Giannetti called.

The turn was the {6-Spades}. Giannetti went all in with his last 105,000. Makowsky thought a moment and called.

Giannetti showed {J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}-x-x for top two. Makowsky had A-A-x-x with two hearts. A six on the river paired the board, giving Makowsky the hand. He's up to 260,000, while Giannetti has tumbled to 30,000.

Griffin Takes a Tumble

Gavin Griffin raised to 3,500 from under the gun, a late-position player reraised to 12,300, and Griffin called.

Griffin checked the {8-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} flop, and the late-position player pushed the rest of his 13,000 chips forward. Griffin called, showing {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. His opponent held {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}. The turn and river didn't help Griffin, and he was down a little to 128,000.

Soon after, Griffin found himself in a raising war with Jerrod Ankenman on a board of {J-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}. The river brought the {9-Clubs} and Ankenman pushed his last 53,000 all in.

"God, you didn't go runner-runner on me," said Griffin before making the call. He didn't -- he had 5-5-x-x for quad fives. Griffin mucked in disgust.

Griffin is suddenly down to 38,000. Ankenman has 198,500.

22 to Go Before Payday

59 players remain here in the Amazon room and 36 get paid. No one expected it at the beginning of the day but we might actually reach the money in the last 80 minutes of play.

I'm not sure the floor staff are fully prepared to deal with paying the players!
