Race at the Top

Randy Lowery has pulled back the gap on current chip leader Lee Watkinson. Watkinson is still leading the pack with 46,200, but Lowery is just inches behind with 44,000.

Meanwhile, the likes of Clonie Gowen, Steve Paul-Ambrose and Mickey Appleman are all still clinging on with less than their starting stacks.

Batista Takes a Hit

With the board reading {6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{J-Hearts}{3-Hearts}, Chad Batista check-called his opponent's bets of 1,000, 1,650 and 4,500, the online pro confessing, "This will be the worst call ever made" before making the call on the river.

His opponent's {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} was enough, as Batista quickly mucked.

Slotboom Goes Boom

Well, if you're going to exit, it might as well be a good hand, Rolf Slotboom mucking upon being shown {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for the straight flush on a {5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{J-Spades}{6-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} board.

Slotboom shook the hand of each of his opponents before exiting stage left.

Paul-Ambrose Trebles Through

Steve Paul-Ambrose

Former Caribbean Poker Adventure winner Steve Paul-Ambrose is now on 10,000 after triumphing in a three-way pot involving Eli Elezra. Raising to 2,200 preflop, Paul-Ambrose trickled his final 425 over the line on a {K-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop with {A-Hearts}{10-Clubs}, which managed to win after an {A-Clubs} turn and {7-Clubs} river. Elezra showed an ace.
