Keith Lehr Eliminated

A roller-coaster ride for Keith Lehr.

He raised to 28,000 with {K-Hearts} {9-Hearts}, only for Lee Watkinson to go all in for a total of 54,000. Feeling committed, Lehr called. Watkinson was holding pocket tens and the board didn't do anything for Lehr, who was left with just 40,000 while Watkinson doubled up to 110,000.

He doubled up a few hands later, moving all in from the big blind with {Q-Spades} {10-Diamonds} after Benjamin Zamani raised the pot from the small blind with {7-Spades} {8-Spades}. Zamani failed to hit and Lehr was back up to 80,000.

However, a few hands after that, Ayaz Mahmood raised utg and Lehr reraised all in from the big blind. Mahmood called.

Lehr: A-9
Mahmood: 4-4

No help for Lehr from the board, and his roller-coaster ride over, it's time for him to disembark and shakily leave the Brasilia Room.

Sluzinski Crippled

Jeff Sluzinski has been crippled by Benjamin Zamani and is now down to a paltry 10,000 in chips.

The fire was kindled when Sluzinski smooth called Zamani's big blind of 14,000, after Sluzinski had limped from the small. Both players checked the {2-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} flop before it all exploded on the {6-Hearts} turn, Sluzinski leading out for 20,000, Ben Zamani raising to 40,000 and Sluzinski pushing all in.

With the second nuts in the hole, Zamani bit his opponent's arm off like a starved caveman and quickly revealed {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}. Sluzinski meekly showed {A-Spades}{8-Clubs}.

No miracle straight arrived on the {6-Clubs} river and that was that, Sluzinski had hit the felt leaving Zamani to rake in the chips and begin building his newly acquired 300,000 stack.

No Love For Amato

Amato Galasso is our latest casualty, raising to 20,000 from the cutoff with {8-Clubs} {8-Hearts} but smacking into the {Q-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} of Jan Von Halle on the big blind. Von Halle sensibly reraised, Galasso had to call, and with no help at all from the {3-Hearts} {7-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {9-Hearts} board, Galasso hit the rail.

Jan Von Halle Leads

Masseuse just out of shot
Masseuse just out of shot
It looks as though we have a new chip leader. Endless hours of relaxing massage have clearly given Jan Von Halle an advantage over his stressed opponents in these late stages of play, as he has in the past few minutes shot up to a massive 440,000

A Walk On the Tight Side

There is quite a degree of caginess on one of our tables -- both Michael Greco and Jeff Sluzinski enjoyed consecutive walks as everyone clings on to their chips for dear life.

Chris Dombrowski Eliminated

Chris Dombrowski is outski after running headfirst into Katja Thater's other half, Jan Von Halle.

Raising to 15,000 from the button, Dombrowski pushed all in for 120,000 after Von Halle had repopped to 25,000 from the big blind.

Dombrowski called and showed {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}, but would need assistance in the form of a third knave as Von Halle was sitting pretty with the ladies.

However, no miracle out emerged, as the board came an uneventful {A-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{9-Spades}{3-Hearts} to give the German the pot.

Channing Eliminated

Without much room to maneuver, Neil Channing raised to 21,000 with {A-Spades} {2-Hearts}, and then called all in for a total mere 28,000 when Robert Cheung reraised him. Cheung was holding the dominating {A-Clubs} {10-Spades}, and with a complete lack of deuces on the {6-Hearts} {3-Spades} {4-Hearts} {4-Spades} {7-Clubs} board, Channing is OUT in 16th place.

Lehr & Cheung Clash

Robert Cheung raised it up to 17,000 from middle position, Keith Lehr reraised to 52,000 from the small blind, Cheung pushed for a total of 128,000 and Lehr folded.

Cheung increased his stack considerably without having to show a hand or see a flop and now boasts over 180,000 in chips.
