Brooker Eliminated

Our latest player who will be taking an extended dinner break is Dave Brooker. Holding K-J, he went all in on the A-K-10 flop -- but found himself drawing rather thin against Ayaz Mahmood's pocket aces. No help from the raggy turn and river, and out he goes.

Jonathan Tamayo Eliminated

Chris Bell
Chris Bell
Chris Bell bumped it up to 14,000 preflop, Jonathan Tamayo made the call and both players reached a {J-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop.

Bell led out for 18,000, Tamayo pushed for 50,000 and Bell called.

Although Tamayo had a straight draw with {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}, it was one he would need to fulfill, Bell revealing {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts} for the flopped set.

However, not only did it not occur, but Bell managed to river a fourth jack for quads to send Tamayo to the rail in emphatic style

Chris Bell is now your current chip leader with over 250,000 in chips.

Tensions Increase; Play Slows

Play has now slowed down somewhat, perhaps due to the pending increase in monies, or maybe simply because players are looking to make it to the dinner break. Either way, the tension has increased with players looking very focused indeed.

Adler Struggling

Michael Binger raised to 11,000 from mid-position and Al Adler called from the big blind. Both checked the {10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{10-Spades} flop, only for Binger to check-call 15,000 on the {5-Diamonds} turn. Binger himself then led out on the {8-Hearts} river, this time for 18,000, which was good enough to take the pot.

Binger -- 168,000
Adler -- 33,000

Blake's Sevens

Blake Steep has been eliminated from today's event. Robert Cheung raised it up to 11,000 preflop, Steep pushed in for 12,500 and Cheung made the inevitable call.

Showing Q-J in the hole, Cheung will have been relieved to be coin-flipping, and subsequently elated by the T-J-8 flop, the five turn and three river failing to fulfill any of Steep's last-ditch hopes.

Freedman Gets Unlucky

Down to 2,500 after doubling up Jeff Sluzinski, Noam Freedman was all in on the big blind. Sluzinski limped in, and the two of them turned over their cards. Freedman was dominating:

Freedman: {A-Hearts} {K-Hearts}
Sluzinski: {A-Spades} {3-Clubs}

But then the board came down so:

{A-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {3-Hearts} {K-Diamonds} {7-Clubs}

Yikes. Freedman is thus eliminated.

Todd Doubles Through

Eugene Todd has doubled up to 64,000. He reraised to 26,000 after an 8,000 raise from Keith Greer preflop, and then threw his last 6,000 in on the {J-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {3-Clubs} flop -- which, as it turned out, was a good one for him.

Todd: {A-Diamonds} {J-Hearts}
Greer: {9-Hearts} {9-Clubs}

Turn: {A-Spades}

River: {2-Clubs}

Greer, meanwhile, is down to 78,000.
