No Shooting Stars . . . Yet

The fun continues over at Hellmuth's table. After the verbal sparring between him and another player had gone on for a while longer, Marcel Luske had an idea.

Luske got up and went over to ask the security guard if he had a gun with which he could shoot them both. Not sure what the guard responded, but it seems to have quieted down over there.

A Sign That It Might Be Getting Late

Near the end of the limit round, Ted Forrest raised from middle position, Jay Rosenkrantz reraised from the button, and Forrest called. The flop came 9-6-9 and Forrest checked.

Rosenkrantz then asked Forrest how much he had, to which Forrest leaned back and held up both hands, revealing his chips. Rosenkrantz then surprisingly bet 6,000, obviously a bit more than is allowed here in the 600/1,200 round of LHE. The table laughed, Rosenkrantz's bet was corrected to 1,200, and Forrest folded.

Double Flush

Phil Laak

On a flop of {Q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}. Phil Laak bets from the big blind and Lederer raises. Laak reraises and Lederer calls.

The turn is {2-Diamonds}. Laak bets, Lederer raises and Laak calls.

The river is {2-Spades}. Laak checks, Lederer bets and Laak calls. "That didn't go well," Laak says.

Laak shows {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Lederer shows a better {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. "I should have check-folded the river," Laak says. He's down to 16,000, and Lederer is up to 40,000.
