Early Double-Up for Bellande

Jean-Robert Bellande and his opponent got all their money in on a flop of {6-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds}. Bellande held {A-Spades} {2-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} {A-Diamonds} with his opponent on a draw holding {A-Hearts} {8-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {9-Clubs}. The board ran low for Bellande, hitting a {5-Clubs} on the turn and a {3-Spades} on the river to make the wheel.

The wheel was good for the scoop and his opponent was sent to the rail.

Others Playing Today

Another player in today's field with an Omaha bracelet is Brett "Gank" Jungblut, who won his in Limit Omaha Hi-Lo. Also in the field today are such well-known players as Gavin Smith, Nikolay Evdakov, Thomas Wahlroos, Rolf Slotboom, Jon Friedberg, Peter Feldman, George Danzer, and James Van Alstyne.

Bracelets Abound

Scott Clements, who has a bracelet in Omaha Hi-Lo and another in Pot-Limit Omaha, is playing in today's event. As is Lee Watkinson, who owns a Pot-Limit Omaha bracelet as well. For that matter, so does Barry Greenstein, also the owner of a PLO bracelet. One of the bracelets Tom Schneider won last year was for the Pot-Limit Omaha/Seven-Card Stud Hi-Lo, and he's playing today as well.

Dealer Chatter

A dealer was overheard before the start of the event telling another dealer that she wouldn't be stacking the chips up easily for a chop if the board ran three high cards.

Another dealer argued with her, telling her she had to, and she kept insisting that she wouldn't be stacking because it was a waste of time if there was no low possible.

"Exactly why you need to do it. You give players in the hand information if you don't."

She ultimately saw his point and agreed to do it his way.

Walking Through the Field

Katja Thater and Jan von Halle are both playing in today's event, as is Alan Smurfit, who won a bracelet in pot-limit Omaha last year. Also playing today are Chip Jett, Shannon Shorr, Jimmy Fricke, Mel Judah, Steve Wong, and C.K. Hua.
