Big Crowd

There may not be a lot of big names in the field besides Erik Seidel, but the remaining two tables have been surrounded for the past hour or two with a very healthy crowd. Despite having the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. event just down the hall, the crowd here is honed in on this pot-limit action.

Pair of Sixes for the Night's Biggest Pot

Chip leader Klaser
Chip leader Klaser
Martin Klaser raised to 28,000 from late position. Gary Hutzler made the call out of the big blind. Both players saw the flop come down {K-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} {5-Clubs} and check.

The turn brought the {6-Hearts} and Hutzler bet out 60,000. Klaser announced that he was all in and Hutzler shrugged his shoulders and made the call.

Hutzler turned over {A-Spades} {8-Spades} {7-Diamonds} {2-Spades}. Klaser rolls over {10-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {4-Hearts} {2-Clubs}.

The river brings the {Q-Diamonds} and no low is on board. Klaser wins the biggest pot of the night with over 300,000 in the middle with just a naked pair of sixes.

Still Lots of Folding

We've managed to lose a few of the shortstacks thus far, but for now things have slowed down a tad. With the blind structures getting bigger, players seem to be playing even tighter; being careful not to make mistakes.

Mark Gallo Eliminated

Mark Gallo was eliminated after getting all his chips in the middle against John Maren preflop. Gallo showed A-A-3-5 and looked to be in great shape over Maren who held {A-Clubs} {3-Hearts} {10-Clubs} {J-Spades}. The board ran high, including a running flush which was enough to eliminate Gallo.

Maren Going Strong

Doug Mandeville raised to 18,000 preflop and Jonathan Maren called. The flop came {10-Spades} {7-Diamonds} {4-Hearts} and Mandeville moved all in for 26,000. Maren called.

Maren turned up {A-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {4-Spades} {3-Clubs} and Mandeville held {A-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {7-Clubs} {2-Clubs}.

The turn then came the {Q-Hearts} and the river landed the {4-Clubs}. There was no low and Maren won the entire pot with a full house.

Mandeville is eliminated with Maren moving up to 150,000.

Time Out for Fans

Erik Seidel just stepped away from the table to give out a few autographs for fans. Always pleasant, Seidel was more than happy to sign a t-shirt as well as a black and white poster. We weren't sure what the poster was of from a distance, but we assume it was poker related.

Seidel Busts the Short Stack

Jim Geary had been riding his short stack for a while now, trying to find the right hand to move with.

Erik Seidel raised from the button to 12,000. Daniel Klein called from the small blind and then Jim Geary moved all in for 7,000 total in the big blind. The flop came {9-Hearts} {6-Clubs} {5-Hearts} and Seidel and Klein checked.

The turn was the {2-Hearts} and Klein checked to Seidel. Erik bet 15,000 and Klein called.

The river was the {9-Diamonds} and Klein checked again. Seidel moved all in for 61,000 and Klein folded.

Seidel showed {A-Clubs} {3-Clubs} {5-Clubs} {7-Spades} to scoop both pots and eliminate Leary. Erik is now up to 122,000.

James Griffith Eliminated

James Griffith was eliminated after calling a pot bet by Casey Kastle on a flop of {J-Hearts} {Q-Spades} {8-Diamonds}. Kastle held A-A-9-7 for top pair and a straight draw while Griffith had 8-Q-K-10 for top and bottom pair. The board came running spades to give Kastle a flush and Griffith was eliminated.
