The King is Dead, Long Live the King

Freddy Deeb
Freddy Deeb
Omaha-8:

Freddy Deeb won this event last year but his quest to repeat as champion just came to an end. He hit top two pair on the {A-Spades} {Q-Hearts} {9-Hearts} flop but Steve Zolotow flopped a set with {A-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} {3-Spades} and that was enough to take the pot and send Freddy out of the tournament.

Kenny "Sick Call" Tran

T.J. Cloutier opened for a raise, Kenny Tran three-bet and Cloutier called. The flop was {Q-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {2-Spades}. Tran bet, Cloutier raised and Tran called. The turn was the {2-Diamonds}. Tran checked, Cloutier bet, Tran raised, Cloutier reraised and Tran called. The river was the {Q-Clubs}, double-pairing the board. Tran checked and Cloutier bet. Tran went into the tank for several minutes before making the call.

David Bach Eliminates Jan Von Halle

Hold'em:

Bach raised on the button before the flop and Von Halle called in the big blind. After the {6-Spades} {3-Hearts} {2-Hearts} flop Von Halle checked and Bach bet out. Von Halle raised for his last few remaining chips and Bach made the call, with his {7-Spades} {7-Diamonds} leading Von Halle's {K-Spades} {3-Spades}. And when the board ran out {5-Clubs} {2-Spades} Von Halle was out and Bach picked up a pot that boosted his stack up to 300,000.

Lindgren On the Rise

Hold'em:

Action folded around to Erick Lindgren on the button and he raised. Ralph Perry called from the big blind and they took a flop.

The flop came {10-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {9-Hearts}. Lindgren bet and Perry called. The turn brought the {A-Spades}. Both players checked. When the {6-Hearts} hit the river, Lindgren fired again and Perry called. Lindgren showed {K-Hearts} {10-Hearts} and Perry mucked.

Lindgren climbed to around 350,000 on the hand and Perry slipped to just under 170,000.

Patrik Antonius Eliminated

Patrik Antonius - Eliminated
Patrik Antonius - Eliminated
Stud:

Patrik Antonius was just eliminated when he got mixed up in a hand with Daniel Negreanu. Both men showed a {4-?} on third street and got into a raising war that resulted in all of Antonius's chips in the middle. The players showed:

Negreanu: ({K-Spades}) ({K-Hearts}) {4-Spades}
Antonius: ({10-Diamonds}) ({10-Clubs}) {4-Clubs}

Negreanu caught a third king on fourth street and when all the cards were out it his hand was still best. Antonius made his way towards the exit while Negreanu stacked his chips, which now tower just over the 260,000 mark.
