Mackey Gets Quartered

Omaha-8:

Lyle Berman opened for a raise from the cutoff, James Mackey three-bet from the button, David Singer called from the big blind and Berman called the additional bet. The flop was {K-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {2-Spades}. Singer checked, Berman bet, and both Mackey and Singer called. The turn was the {K-Spades}. Singer checked, Berman bet, Mackey called and Singer folded. The river was the {5-Diamonds}. Berman bet and Mackey called.

Berman showed {A-Hearts} {3-Spades} {5-Spades} {9-Diamonds}, having caught two pair on the river for high, and making 6-5-3-2-A for low. Mackey showed {A-Spades} {3-Diamonds} {10-Spades} {Q-Hearts} -- the same low as Berman, and missing his nut flush draw for high. Berman won the high half and they split the low.

After the hand, Mackey had 122,000 while Berman was holding steady at 96,000.
