Battle for Side Pot Saves Gabriellson

Shortly after that hand in which Steve Ware doubled up with kings, we had an interesting three-way pot involving Ware, Ferit Gabriellson, and Jesper Petersen.

Gabriellson was all in for his last 35,000 from the cutoff, and Ware and Petersen called him from the blinds. The flop came {Q-Spades}{4-Clubs}{4-Spades}, and both checked. The turn was the {8-Spades}. Ware checked, Petersen bet 20,000 into the dry side pot, then Ware reraised to 48,000.

Petersen folded to Ware's reraise. "Yes!" said Gabriellson. "You folded an eight, right?" he said to Petersen. Petersen confirmed that he had.

Gabriellson showed {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}. Ware had {A-Spades}{10-Hearts} for the nut flush draw. The river was the {J-Diamonds}, and Gabriellson survived.
