Rasmussen Finds a Queen

Sitting in late position, George Abdallah opened with a raise to 7,000. Right behind him, Thayer Rasmussen reraised to 31,000. William McMahon called from the small blind with his last 3,600 chips, and Abdallah made the call as well.

The flop came {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} {6-Hearts}. Abdallah moved all in for 64,900, and Rasmussen, who was covered, made the call all in for 49,800 total. At this point, both McMahon and Rasmussen were at risk for their tournament lives.

McMahon: {5-Hearts} {7-Spades} {9-Spades} {A-Clubs}
Abdallah: {6-Diamonds} {6-Spades} {7-Clubs} {5-Spades}
Rasmussen: {A-Diamonds} {A-Spades} {10-Diamonds} {2-Spades}

Abdallah had his two men on the ropes, looking for the double elimination. Salvation found Rasmussen on the turn, though. The {Q-Spades} peeled off, making him queens full, and putting him back in control of the hand. The river was a raggy {9-Clubs}. McMahon was knocked out, but Rasmussen found his card and more than doubled up, now over 180,000.
